That's what the judge's thought, but it did and should have. Both the quagmire and the awakened land were 4/4s. Olivier briefly considered giving the the land -2 power before combat but then decided against it, which both players were aware of but looked unclear to the judges and the viewers. At least that's how I understand it :)

What are you talking about? At 1:00:03 He ticked Jace up from 2 to 3 before attacks, considered giving the Ashaya -2 first but then pointed to the awakened land and placed a die in front of it. The now 2/4 awakened land blocks the quagmire which is 4/4 from Sylvan Advocate and should not have died.

Jacob could have searched and casted emrakul when he was controlling Oliver so Oliver would not have had a chance to attack as the final turn would have been jacobs.

Extra turn still would have occurred before Emrakul's trigger mattered. Emrakul takes control of target opponent's "next" turn, and that turn still wouldn't have happened before Olivier's extra turn.
