High-Density, good magic here. You'd never know this was Hull's first PT from how well he played, and Yasooka was spotless as always. Congratulations are in order for both of them.

I love watching these control matches. I'm not any good at playing control, but I love the control archetype

Why don't they include the link to the two deck lists?

No Aetherworks was the most popular deck. Also he's more of a limited master, so it's impressive he did that well in standard.

Dispel isn't in Shota's sideboard list (as posted on MTG) - does anyone have the correct decklist posted? Thanks.

Seems like the spotters listed one of his cards incorrectly?

40:30 couldnt Shota galvanic bombardment his own thing in the ice, flip, 7/8 takes 4 damage?
@amacuro7 жыл бұрын
Thing in the Ice flips before the Galvanic Bombardment resolves and returns the Weaver of Lightning to his hand. If he pointed it to the Thing in the Ice, it would have taken 4 dmg for no reason.

why does the opponent get to see ur decklist before the game?
@GUIHTD7 жыл бұрын
Generally, decklists are not public information and are not shared with other players during a tournament. At constructed-format, Professional REL tournaments (Pro Tour, World Magic Cup, Magic: The Gathering World Championship, and Grand Prix), copies of opponents’ decklists will be provided to players in the single-elimination playoffs.

He tried to kill the white dude's Toolcraft Exemplar. But the announcers didn't really explain it right. It doesn't matter when you pass the turn. The turn still goes through all the phases. When it goes into combat phase, TE gets his boost that lasts until end of turn. So if he didn't cast at precombat prior to going into combat then, TE will have 2 toughness.
@Patronux8 жыл бұрын
they know that and Shota knows that too. The thing was Ben didn't announce his Exemplar was triggering at the beginning of combat, so Shota called for a missed trigger. The commentators correctly explained that a trigger that doesn't have immediate visual impact to the game don't need to be announce to actually happen.

that is literally so dumb at 32 min when ben hull got away with skipping combat so that shota couldn't kill the toolcraft examplar. he immediately responded on the first pass of priority with the proper play and the judge's call was given in favor to ben. this kind of play makes competitive magic disgusting at times, and it rewards players like ben for being a jerk, which i find unacceptable.
@tylerquilty12088 жыл бұрын
Peter Gibson Not attacking doesn't mean combat is skipped, especially since combat isn't a skip-able step in the first place. As they said, triggers don't have to be announced until they visibly affect the game. Following the rules doesn't make you a jerk

To be fair I don’t think Ben thought about it u til it was targeted since he went to pick it up and then noticed. So I don’t think it was intentional
