The way this video teaches, I can understand following concepts Intuitively. - Conditional Probability: -- P(B | A) = n(B) / n(S) = n(B n A) / n(A) [ Venn Diagram Sample Space S consideration helped ] - Permutations ( n! and P(n,r) ) -- n! -> Literarlly decrease of available options as order is created : 10! = 10 x 9 x 8 ..... 2 x 1 -- P(n,r) -> Literally to stop ordering of whole 'n' numbers : P(10,3) = 10 x 9 x 8 = (10 x 9 x 8 x 7! / 7!) = 10! / 7! = 10! / (10-3)! - Combinations (1 and C(n,r) ) -- 1 -> Combination of all numbers lol : 1 = C(10,10) = 10!/(10!*1!) -- C(n,r) -> Dividing P(n,r) with Concerned numbers r permutations ( to avoid accounting for them) : C(10,3) = 10 x 9 x 8 / 3! ( Where 3 ordered numbers complete permutations is 3!)

When I was a high school student and we had a statistics class, I was very absent-minded. Once I declared my love to the most beautiful girl in school. She looked at me with those green eyes that pierced me and said very seriously: "You have a 0.000000001 chance with me." In any case, she repeated a lot of zeros. I opened my eyes wide and jumped out, shouting with happiness, "I have a chance, I have a chance."

Is this an accurate distillation? 1. Experimental probability - percentage of X in results found 2. Theoretical probability - percentage of X in results predicted 3. Set intersection - percentage of members in two or more sets that are the same 4. Conditional probability - percentage of times event B follows event A 5. Multiplication law - percentage of times events A and B both happen 6. Permutation - given N things in a sequence, the percentage of one permutation 7. Combination - given N things in any order, the percentage of one permutation 8. Continuous probability distribution - as for example in bell curve 9. Binomial probability distribution - percentage of a success in a N trials 10. Geometric probability distribution - percentage of first success after N trials.

Awesome video! There is one thing bothering me though : for the exercise about the probability of 1 kid on the team I did it right but was also curious about multiplying the probabilities : 11/18 * 10/17 * 9/16 * 8/15 * 7/14 * 7/13 But this doesn't work (~2.9%), I don't understand why though.

How to solve it was by doing each one with its own combination so you would do (C7,1) C11,5)/C(18/6) and the ones on the top once you find their combination you multiply both of them to get the answer for the numerator since there are 2 combinations to solve on the top. It just looked different the way he wrote it down

So far, I got to the point 4 and find this video immensely helpful. In the “Must know 4” I do not see any relation between the Veen diagram in the definition and the provided example. The denominator n(A) implies that A in provided example is a total number of females. So, B is a total number of males. What is than ‘A and B’? Is there any way to create a Veen diagram for the example?

2:40 I'm not convinced. Yes, you flipped the coin 100 times and got 50 tails, but as soon as you flip it again then your result will not be 50%. It will be either 50/101 or 51/101. So what is your justification that the experimental probability approaches the theoretical probability?
@tubero9114 ай бұрын
Read up on the law of large numbers. It’s about convergence to the theoretical probability for a large number of samples. Yes you might see 50/101 but continue and you might see 500/1001 and then 5000/10001. None of those values is exactly 50% but as the sample size increases, the probability is converging to 50%. The delta between the experimental probability and the theoretical probability decreases as the sample size increases, and the delta converges to zero.
