Typically "beer" as a category has a general date of expiry of 1 year set on it though, at least in Sweden, don't know about other countries. It's incredibly dumb anyway, for numerous reasons. First and foremost because different types of beer handle storing way differently, some heavy stouts or barely wines can keep for years and years while some of the really hoppy hazy IPA:s start to loose taste after a couple of weeks, especially in room temp. Which is the other main flaw, Systemet doesn't store the beer cold. If you buy a random lager that is let's say a month old and store it cold at home and taste it when it's one year old it will most likely be good, if you pick up the same beer that has been sitting at 20C for a year it will most likely be bad.

Watch milk expiry dates too. Laktosfri milk will last a long time past its date but regular milk wont. It's all dependent on the store too. Our local Coop is horrible about trying to shove expired milk out, but Hemköp in my town is fine. So its not that the entire Coop company is bad its that the local one just has some shit employees :D But its a generally good idea to keep an eye on expiry dates on pretty much everything... especially things that can hurt you :)
