Right?! I was actually excited about the house when I first saw it in the shop and during the review... but when I placed it down for the showcase, I was appalled. There's nothing "premium" about that house. They should have held it back, put some real effort into it, and released it in the next updates premium lineup... but no... they just HAVE to put 4 new items in the shop each week, I guess. 😔

Can we also acknowledge the fact that the house skin is a recycled model of the Snuggly Duckling house, but with less effort 🤦🏻‍♂️? It’s so clear the game has become money hungry, and it’s leaving such a bad taste in peoples mouths. They better smarten up before it’s too late. People are already over the game and we’re not even half way through this year. 😬

Agreed. I really hope Gameloft Pivots... It's shocking how much damage they've done in just one season. The only time they are "listening" to players is when we complain about bugs... but complaints about aggressive monetization often seem ignored. 🙃 Not good for the longevity of the game. 🤔

I know I’m a minority, but I actually really like when they put crappy items in the premium shop like that. It helps me save moonstones and not feel obligated to try for every single item. I have no problem watching those ones pass and saving my moonstones for a better week. I get burnt out when there are too MANY good/high effort items in the premium shop

I am obsessed with the Ratatouille fountain at EPCOT, so I am thrilled they put it in the game in such detail. It's my favorite fountain in the entirety of Disney World, and also the rest of the world. You just can't beat a rat themed fountain.

I'm nearly moonstone broke myself... and that's without even having to buy returning Star Path items and consistently claiming 4K moonstones in Dreamsnaps. It's pretty crazy just how much more Gameloft has been pumping into the premium shop. I'll be struggling to do these showcases before long! 🤣

Oh, they certainly know! Gameloft typically pays VERY close attention when it has to do with their "premium" income. 😅 As mentioned in the video, a ban wouldn't be fair to many innocent players. I believe Gameloft is well aware of that fact as well. The main reason bans are discussed here is because it's a common topic and fear among impacted players. In my honest opinion, the only REAL danger is the hacked blue chests corrupting save data. Players should be aware of that, and that's why it's the primary topic of this week's video. 😁

Similar to people who intentionally grief others in games or get mad when people are enjoying a game they've found themselves no longer able to enjoy. As far as the "good" hacked blue chests, Gameloft only has themselves to blame. Despite the game remaining "pay to play" it feels like they're moving closer and closer to a "free to play" monetization model. The community is simply finding new and innovative ways to rise above the constant inflow of premium items. If Gameloft spent as much time ironing out the game as they do filling the premium shop each week we'd probably have a pretty polished game by now! Lol!

This is what I have started to do to keep my sav file safe…I have this game on multiple platforms, so I started to keep a “backup” of my sav on my switch this way if something terrible happens when I’m playing on Xbox or PC I send my switch sav file to the cloud. Good luck everyone and stay safe!

I have gotten some of those chests on my xbox profile, since it is an alt account. I have only gotten these from one source, so I cannot say if it is the same for every person providing these chests...but for me, I have to pick up the chest in order to open it. So it doesn't act like a moonstone chest. Meaning, it goes into my inventory. Just like the dreamsnap red chest rewards do. So if I were to pick one up accidentally, I could drop it in a room and forget about it, or put it in storage. Without ever needing to open it. I certainly advocate for playing with caution, which is why I have only done this on a secondary account. Just wanted to throw this out there, in case someone picks one up and it acts as the ones I have gotten do. You *DO NOT* have to open it in your inventory. Thank you for not putting all the blame on us treasure valleys. (Although there are a few doing this kind of rubbish) Ive had to do some digging myself to protect my community against these chests. Even had conversations with gameloft. So in its simplest form (for those who say the chests are fine) Much like when you purchase moonstones or any ingame currency for any game. Youve got a receipt or transaction ID So if your getting premium things without a transaction ID then your at risk. Gameloft have released one paid dlc. Their main income for this game is moonstones. So taking away their income will never work out for anyone in the long run. The game will either become super restricted or it will just stop getting new content. People selling these items. You should NEVER be paying for anything in game unless directly to the game itself. Just support the things you love and stay safe out there. Nothing is worth risking your accounts.

Great video, one thing i'd love for you to include is a quick mention of how big some items are, like "this item is 10x10 squares", so you can figure out if the items will fit into yor valleys design or not 😅

I include this information sometimes, but I don't always have the time to sit back and count the squares. Wednesdays are busy, as not only do I have to plan, edit, and publish an entire video bit, but I also have to go live afterward for 3 to 4 hours. I think the better place for this recommendation would be on Gameloft's posts or forums. Why not request an item dimensions/size listing for the premium shop? If anything, we should be asking Gameloft to list dimensions in the "preview" option rather than having me or other creators count out the sides on every new item. 😅 With all that said, if you watch my videos often, you've probably seen me include dimensions from time to time... Sadly, it's just not feasible to do it for every video. Cheers!

Well obviously hacker got smart. Probably like most us that are day1 players. W. Disney being so money hungry at the costs of these items, figured to take it upon themselves to say hey here take this overly priced items. But also i still havent once went to someones elses nor shared my code for the simple fact of hackers. It was a matter of time before it happened. My PlayStation account was hacked st the start of covid and bc of the shut down i was not able to regain access to my account. Lost thousands of dollars worth of games and credits.

You can make something "cartoony" without being this lazy. One look at the roof, and it's painfully obvious they took about 6 different textures and stacked them like paper machet. The bottom half of the house doesn't even match the top half as far as effort and detail are concerned. Now, like I stated, if you're on Switch, it likely doesn't matter to you because your graphic preset is so low you can hardly tell a difference. There are tons of "cartoony" things in the game that look fantastic... this house is not one of them. 😅

I'm gonna be frank; I openly hack the game. I've been playing for several years now, and I've paid money for moonstones before/ bought the DLC. I've currently got access to all premium items for free, and even unreleased items/house skins/bundles that'll probably be released soon. As an insider who knows about these chests--the chest ID codes are SUPER easy to find. However, some of the ID codes are meant for spawning/testing, and should NOT be spawned into the game at all. The reason why some are safe and some are not is because, on the hacking forums I'm a part of (I will not be linking them, some secrets are better left unsaid,) there are several old documents floating around with previous chest version ID's which ONLY include the buggy spawn IDs rather than the actual chest IDs. Yes, you can create chests and fill them with things that you want, too. Which is the more popular method for this particular thing. Some are malicious, some aren't. But from what I've seen on the forums, 90% of people do not want to drop these bugged/messed up chests. The main reason people do this is to protest the fact that we already paid full dollar for a game, extra money for a DLC, and the premium shop prices are hitting us with FOMO and absurd amounts of money to get everything in the game. I'm not spending over 1K to get pixels, Gameloft. Anyways, just an insider look at this. Either way, I wouldn't trust these chests if you're not into hacking the game yourself, because it's difficult to determine which codes are the actual chest code and which are the spawn ID codes. And just to answer this question ahead of time; yes, I've been hacking for years. No, I have never gotten caught, because I'm not stupid and I don't place any unreleased items into my game then take pictures of them. I also don't allow visitors in my valley. When you are hacking the game, if you're forced to restart, then you have to re-hack every single premium item onto the new save file. Yes, hacking is also useful, because you can spawn broken quest items to un-soft lock yourself from a game breaking bug. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk™.

We actually discussed this on stream yesterday! Sadly, I'm very doubtful that we'll see a fix. Of course, it is possible... The reason I'm doubtful is because it appears Gameloft has shifted their focus to ensuring that at least FOUR new premium items hit the shop almost every week. We used to only see 2 new items a week, and even then, they didn't run this many weeks with new items consecutively. Considering Gameloft is dedicating so much dev attention to making new items, it's less likely that they'll spend or even find time to fix the ones already released unless they are severely broken. That sad truth here is that they were well aware of just how lazy this roof design was but pushed it out into the shop anyway. 😔

Oh, they're definitely blue. 😊 I believe Serroh knows that they are blue as well. I don't think he ever actually said they were red, and from what I'm gathering from other comments here, it appears he just used a red chest as an example when filming a recent video. I'm pretty sure I even saw a blue chest on one of his thumbnails about the hacked chest sometime in the past few days. To be honest, I probably wouldn't trust ANY chest unless it was dropped by someone I know personally as somebody knowledgeable enough about the games coding could potentially change the chests intended color. 🤔

Yes. This is how it works. As mentioned in the video only a hacker with malicious intent is going to try and corrupt your save file. I believe most hackers just want to spread free premium items. Just be careful who you trust. That's the main point of this video. You may have received a chest that simply unlocked premium items... but other players were NOT as fortunate.

Hey, Heartstring! I'd be more than happy to explain how this works! (This was also explained in the video, but you may have missed this part and that's okay!) You actually do not have to *personally* talk to someone. Many players open their valley to the public. They do this by sharing their valley code on Discord servers, reddit pages, or Facebook groups. Usually making a post telling players what to expect. (Treasure hunts, item trades, valley tours, ect.) Posting your code online for the public doesn't really qualify as "personally talking to someone" For example, if you opened your valley right now and then posted your valley code on Facebook, people you're not familiar with could visit. This is how players open their valleys to the public. Many players do this to connect with the community and make new friends.

No problem! You may be surprised to learn that players opening their valleys to the public is a rather common practice. Sharing your valley with others is a beautiful part of the game and a great way to connect & make new friends. I'd say that about 99.9% of the Dreamlight Valley community is polite, respectful, and trustworthy. The odds of running into somebody toxic are extremely low. Most players I know who do publicly open their valleys have nothing but positive experiences. Unfortunately, with the uncertainty surrounding this newer issue (hacked chests) it adds a small element of risk. Though, up until now there was hardly any downside to opening your valley with the exception of the occasional meal thief. 😂

I like to open my valley but wouldn't want one sitting there forever. Any thoughts on if it would corrupt a save if one saved locally on a 2nd device first. Then used their main device to open the valley. If they happened to get a glitched chest could they go back to the 2nd device and reload the local save and save over the cloud save with that local save to undo it?

Local saves should be safe from decryption so long as it's on a separate device from the one that encountered/opened the hacked chest. Loading locally from that backup save should bypass a corrupted cloud save or local save from another device.

Thousands of players have picked up hacked blue chests without issues, while only a mere handful have reported save file corruption. Either way, it's important to me that players are aware of these reports and/or taking measures to protect themselves.

This game saves both locally and to the cloud. You really shouldn't have to worry about it so long as you receive blue chests from a player you trust. Due to the games cloud saving mechanic, you can't simply create backups. This is why people on Switch who time travel ultimately lose their account in many cases. There is no backup to restore. Your save data is tied to your online account.

And with a worldwide cost of living crisis, not everyone can afford to buy moonstones to make up for the shortfall. So yes, a day one player can indeed be missing many premium shop items. i don't use discord and i don't use the valley visit portal. never visited anyone elses valley. never used that feature is daisys boutique. i don't even have any friends unless they completely hacked their way into my valley somehow because I didn't technically opt in to valley visits when i placed the portal thing for vanellopes quest... i don't even know if i am able to revoke access and opt out of valley visits entirely so it just won't let me use it if i accidentally clicked on it. i have never been to a treasure island but i def would ot be dumb enough to share my friend code or whatever it is publicly. So am I safe... I just want the regular moonstone chests through the game officially.thank you.

You don't have to worry about anybody coming to your valley. The way multiplayer works is that you have to actually open your valley for a visit. Anytime you do this, you will be given a randomly generated code, and without that code, players cannot come to your valley.

I love dreamsnaps. It's the best thing about the game in my opinion. Then again, my favorite thing to do in DLV is decorate and design. I don't care that much about quests or leveling villagers but sometimes that can be fun too.

If a player drops a blue chest, you KNOW it's a hacked chest. That's how. If one simply spawns in your valley, it's a regular one.

Edit: I should have listened to the intro more carefully. Did not know blue chests can give premium items (and needed to Internet a little bit to understand that these are not GL-provided)... Am I missing something? I don't feel like this explains what the hacked blue chests actually are. Or at least there are 2 different things/issues? Does the beginning of that discussion here refer to visitors "stealing" another valley's chests for the moonstones (which can buy premium items, but we skip past that and just refer to the chests having "premium items" - otherwise, I don't understand) and maybe getting banned? But then we transition to describing actual hacked chests breaking save files? As I continue watching, I think it is eventually made clear but the lack of a topic/framing intro to that portion just left me confused

Following the intro, the first topic I discussed focused on what we currently know regarding blue chests as well as a newer and more dangerous development. Assuming not all players knew about the blue chests giving premium items, I needed to open by explaining that. Following the opening, I covered potential responses from Gameloft, and then finally, I closed out the topic by sharing a new development... The appearance of new/malicious blue chests with the potential to corrupt save data. This likely all made sense to you once you actually listened to the entire segment. @CalamityCannon Anytime! I'm happy to help! Concerning the Blue Chests, they are supposed to just spawn in daily and provide players with the daily moonstones. However, hackers have found a way to use them to distribute premium items. You'll know it's a hacked chest if a player drops it. Normal blue chests simply spawn into the valley and can not be picked up, only opened! Meaning the ones being dropped are obviously hacked chests! Also, thank you for the kind words! nah you're so vaild that house is garbage, i play on an xbox one and even my graphics aren't THAT bad i could never place that house in my valley. it sucks it would've been one of my favorite houses if it didn't look so flat🤦🏻‍♀️

They can be received on any platform. Though I would imagine it's very unlikely you would encounter them on Playstation due to the lack of crossplay.

GREAT…. now I’m scared to open any of my blue chests. I have no idea if they’re fake or real, because I’m trusting and let visitors roam while I time bended around my valley 😑 I hope the devs become aware of the issue if they aren’t yet and let us know what to do (or somehow get rid of the fake chests if they are there). I had a few people visit my valley yesterday for trading buttons but was this hack just discovered today?? 😳

Consider clearing your valley of blue chests before opening your valley for the day. Also, the odds of receiving a malicious blue chest appear to be quite small. This has only been reported by a handful of people from what I've seen. The blue chests in your valley right now are most likely regular moonstone chests. Clear them and then scan for chests when starting your play session.

🤣 Yeah, Gameloft is paying me to say their premium houses are garbage. They said I get double the money if I constantly mention how their greed is ruining the game! I can't wait to cash in my $500,000 check! Maybe watch the whole video or (and this may be difficult for you) try reading? There's plenty of information in the comments in which I bring up safe methods for picking up hacked blue chests. On top of that, there are comments where I say Gameloft only has themselves and their greedy practices to blame for this whole situation. Multiple players have reported save file corruption after picking up hacked blue chests. That's not something I'm going to ignore. Though, like I stated in the video, most hacked blue chests appear to be safe. It appears the problem here is that you have a room temperature IQ. You're also clearly not familiar with my channel. Either way, good luck in life! You're going to need it with this level of intellect.

Yeah... That's the primary topic of the video. I would be wary of receiving one from an absolute stranger. Though, if it's from someone you trust or an established treasure valley, it's likely safe. I already stated that MOST of the blue chest appear to be good. Regardless, players should know the risks involved.
