When they were talking about the brutal and violent original versions of fairy tails, it reminded me of Sleeping Beauty. In the original story, Dornroschen (or Sleeping Beauty) was raped by the first prince who found her..and I think the prince just left her after he had his way with her...Sleeping Beauty was supposed to sleep for another hundred years before her spell was truly broken by another prince...I'm not quite sure about the details, but I'm quite sure about the 'being raped' part because that actually horrified me the first time I read the original version..
