mam at 9:32 in video ,why didn't we consider the kerb on other side in diagram while calculating width of slab?

Because, we are trying to find out the width when the vehicle is placed near to the supports. Spreading of the vehicle wheel load shall not reach up to other kerb, according to vehicle width here. So need not to consider it

And mam in calculation of Dead load why we are not considering the selfwight or load from kerbs or footpath

Hi Nasreen.., Do we consider parapet walls while calculating dead loads for slab of a building..? no right.. !! In similar manner, we don't consider them while calculating dead load of deck slab in general. Simple reason, is their values are very less compared to dead weight of slab. But in special conditions they might be included considering suitable specifications.

Nice video mam.. Wonderful explanation but I have doubts and m not getting that anywhere in textbook... Mam in question with kerbs if footpath width is also given then will we have to consider both kerbs and footpath width with carriage way or only footpath width???
