Problem Solved? - Land Pride RCR 1260 Brush Cutter
We've sold our flail mower and replaced it with a new to us Land Pride RCR 1260 Brush cutter. For years we have been trying to find the right mower/tractor combination to keep our farm looking nice. We've tried belly mowers, finish mowers and flail mowers. Now we are trying a brush cutter with our Kioti CK4010

Level it out and the front end of the cutter will not drag on the ground.

Grass is coming up in our new field already. We’ll need this setup soon. Thanks for the info!

You could sharpen the blades for a more manicured look. As you said, it's a brush cutter. The blades are not usually sharpened because you want them to splinter the stumps of the brush to help kill them, and also prevent them from stubbing a tractor tire. Love your videos, I find them to be very helpful. Thank you, have a great day.

Raise the cutter up some in the front. The rear should only be about an inch higher than the front. Also try removing the rear guard. You do not need one in open fields and you can run faster and have less drag on the tractor.

Level it. The front of the mower is pushing the grass down before the blades can cut it. That's why it cuts better in reverse.

At most a 1 inch rake up to the rear. Adds to longevity of the skids on either side of the cutter. Also you can add chains to the front edge to limit push over. Or you can remove it altogether I wouldn't but I have seen it done. Mine has a heavy duty rubber flap that prevents objects from ejecting forward but limits pushing the grass flat prior to cutting.

Watch out for Guineas and Turkeys setting on a nest in tall grass. Sometimes they don't move......

Congrats on the cutter. I may be wrong, but the front of the cutter looks to be much lower than the rear and may dig in at low areas or ruts, dulling the blades prematurely. Try getting her on some flat ground and level the front to rear, then lift the back up to about an inch higher than the front. Same principals to a push mower. Best wishes to you guys and thanks for the content you share.

Mount a holder for a wharse broom so after mowing you can sweep off the deck before you get back to the shop and wash it off...

Nice job,but I have to say I like old iron my favorite tractor is my Case VAC 1951 and my mower is a Bush Hog model 104 trailer type made when you can’t dent them with a sledgehammer ( tired iron not retired iron).

They are set up with sheer pins just in case you hit a rock or a stump cutting through some thick stuff. Sheer pins are cheap and on the shelf at TS. They come in packs of 3. I learned the hard way and now keep them on hand.

For steering, you are now driving something that swings from both ends. instead of thinking like driving a car, think about the pivot point instead, which is the rear tires or roughly where you sit. Just be careful along your fence lines. Turn out slow and between posts so you don’t catch on the fence.

25hp on a 60” is possible if it’s gear drive, hst robs a lot of the power before it hits the pto though. I run a 1560 with my L245DT

Level that deck, set it with the three point. It will cut nice. You don’t want a manicured look, nicely cut grass will grow twice as fast as stuff beat to death with a rotary cutter.
