Problem with iRobot Braava

I just started having problems with my iRobot Braava. No matter what setting I put it on, it does these sporadic movements and doesn't seem to get anywhere. I will contact the company and post my findings.

I had a similar issue, the wheel axes are stucked. The reason is the dirt, specifically: threads or hair. I removed them and Braava now works fine. Just check the axes periodically. Regards,

I had (still have) the same problem. I solved it with removing and re-pulging the battery. It fixes this behaviour for some time.

Figured out the problem with my Braava 380. On the underside where the wheels are on a gimbaled type apparatus, the gimbal was stuck so that it didn’t “float” well which caused the newly replaced wheel treads and wheels to not be able to turn simultaneously. Don’t know what caused the gimbaled mechanism to stick unless it was the cleaning solution I use after the wheels needed to be replaced for such a long period of time and the Braava sat still for so long. But it’s working and I’m happy !

The device was still under warranty. They shipped me a new one and I put the old one in the box. I think making this video really helped. I did not get any back and forth, "well did you check this?" The person I emailed acknowledged that was an obvious software issue and sent me a new one.

I know what the problem is. It's very simple. Disconnected Plug one of the motors drive the wheels. You need to unscrew the two or four screws underneath and remove the lid of the device. Then you will see that each wheel on the total fee go the wires to the connectors. One or both of the connector you want to reconnect again. Then reassemble the device.

on my braava 380 , one of the rubber wheel treads has become detached. seems they have a pretty flimsy glue on them. this is a major design flaw imho. ive contacted customer support and will see what they suggest.

Mine just did this the other day. although it also wont connect to the cube. its almost 2 month old now.. I'm waiting on a call back from Irobot

I have the same problem with my 2 months old Braava 380. First minute or so after start it moves like it should move, but after that it just move any way but the right way, plus it is circling. Contacted iRobot support; I do have to send it to Germany. Does the new one has the same problem or is it working since?

mine had the same issue, it was the motor sensor. replacing the motor sensor fixed the issue immediately. the sensor where the wheel goes too fast (in video the right wheel) is the broken one.

My robot braava had a small leak when i bought it. Now it will not hold water for more than a few minutes. It does get stuck a lot. My robo vac for pets is horrible. Pet hair after one use clogs the rollers. I empty the dirt reservoir after every use. Also after every use have to take out the rollers and clean them. Vac never makes it thru a full run without getting stuck several times. Would never buy another one. I spend more time on maintenance of the vac than it would take to sweep. Now it sits on it's charger unused. Waste of money.

in my case the temporary solving is to put the dry cleaning cloth and start the robot. It should work well. after a while of dry cleaning, put the wet cloth and start it allover again. so in short, alternate cleaning mode

I tried it even without the cloth attached and it still did the same thing. The main reason for the video was to demonstrate that it was not working under "standard operating conditions". That way I could avoid a lengthy back and forth troubleshooting conversation. It was clearly a problem with the hardware/software and not due to something being clogged or wet or something.

ordered replacement wheels for mine I got from ebay. works like brand new.

the rubber over the wheel wore out and is slipping. got 2 years out of the originals.
