Tough decision between Sea World/Busch Gardens and Universal. I wish that there was a special for all three! I think that it's a shame that riders were not allowed to decide whether or not the Maverick's heartline was too intense. When are they going to learn that too coaster enthusiasts, as long as I don't have any blood vessels burst in my eyeballs, it's not too intense! I think that sometimes, passing out is a risk you have to take! At least Velocicoaster has it, and proves that riders can take it after all, but I think that Ohioans shouldn't have to travel halfway across the country to experience it!

I operated maverick for the 2008 season and I remember when one of the trains had to be removed from the track because it rolled back on the horseshoe roll. Maverick is probably one of the most underestimated roller coasters around. Since maybe a year or two after it opened, it really doesn’t get much hype anymore, at least compared to the likes of Millenium Force and Steel Vengeance. And when it comes time to ride it, I feel like most people just look at its relatively unremarkable-looking quantitative stats and subconsciously assume it will be another Gatekeeper or Iron Dragon: a fun ride while you’re on it, and one you wouldn’t want to leave the park without riding, but far from the most memorable ride of the day for most people. And then they ride it and are given a rude awakening by how intense and aggressive and ruthless it is. That was certainly my experience. And now whenever I’m in line for it, I love watching the trains load and unload, and comparing the demeanours of the riders before and after. Every time someone gets on the ride with a blank or neutral expression, when they return to the station their face is just all like “😳 brooo wtf just happened!” And I love it 🤣 Maverick, Steel Vengeance, and Top Thrill are my 3 favorite coasters at Cedar Point

It's been awhile since I've made a comment after getting the captions done, but given that during the 'final review' stage, I kept having to back up 'cause I was watching the coaster instead of the captions, this one deserves to be immortalized as the one I MOST want to ride out of those I've done so far. Back when I first started watching your videos, it struck me how you're really great at clearly describing the ride experience, and using multiple POVS and footage, so that I can actually understand the layout in a single viewing (no easy feat, given my brain's difficulty grasping spatial concepts). And, in the time since then, you've only gotten better. 😎🍍

Here for the “My first Time” story. My friends dad took us to CP for the day, and for the first time in my life, would occasionally let us teens walk around by ourselves a bit. Maverick was our last ride of the night- our way of fighting leaving the park since it was a 2- hour wait. The park would close well before that, but if you’re in line, you ride! We waited so long we sat down in the line. Reaching the station, we decided what’s another 2 minutes for front row? It was the MOST incredible ride and remained my favorite for years. I’d always ride it no matter the wait. Last time I visited, mav was shut down so I couldn’t compare steel ven. to maverick that day.

I really enjoy the insight what goes on behind the scenes of these roller coasters. As an engineer, I find the technical aspects of the rides very fascinating.

During this ride, I had my hands up and when it did one of it’s snaps, it fricken killed my shoulder like that shit was sore for like two weeks but it was still one of the best rides I have ever ridden. If you don’t like intense drops but still want the thrill, it’s one of the greatest in my opinion.

I know I'll piss a lot of people off with this but Int>B&M. Every B and M feels the same. Same elements, similar layout, etc. They aren't necessarily boring, but very predictable

These review and analysis videos are awesome. I've always really liked rollercoasters, but it's only recently that I've started calling myself an enthusiast and started learning more about them. So these videos are super interesting and I get to learn something. Maverick is easily one of my favorite rides!

So funny story about that brake under the station. I remember in high school (2012 or 2013 I think) my friends and I rode Maverick late, and we were one of the last trains of the day. The lights for the ride were off for the start of the light show, and we were screaming through the night. When we came to brakes under the station, WE NEVER SLOWED! We races it and were throttled out of the tunnel. It was the only time I’ve ever heard of this happening and I figured this is the proper venue to tell me story. Great video!

"I actually liked the orange straps" *actually got a massive headache from them* Truthfully I think the height was because of those original straps. They were hard and short people banged their heads into them, not their necks. Idk which is worse but at 5'7 I experienced the head banging. I loved it anyways, but man, I avoided riding multiple times. Now I don't!
@ace20114 жыл бұрын
Exactly, even as a seasoned rider I struggled to keep my head from getting bashed around on them. Changing the straps made this ride go from one my wife (who mostly only rides coasters because of me) refused to ride more than once a trip, IF I could talk her into that, to one of her favorites that she will ride as many times as we're able to get on it. Definitely a huge improvement.

What's funny is that Gatekeeper and Valravyn are b-list coasters at Cedar Point. I feel like if you plant any of those rides at some other park, they could be the staple coaster at that park

also this video is super informative about the block zone mapping, riders per hour ideally vs reality and then delivering info on Intamin and their relationship with delivering figures on their rides etc. I really never got to think about coasters in this way so this was awesome to listen to
