That's the point...you're getting it all wrong.. Like you said, he is speaking Yoruba fluently...almost as perfect as the real owners of the language.. English and Yoruba are both different languages. And whichever language u chose to speak, it you don't get it right then u simply aren't getting it right. So trying to speak English with the correct accent or intonation of the actual owners of the language is the right thing to do..it doesn't stop one from still speaking Nigerian languages fluently.

It's similar to how people think English is not hard compared to other languages. The reason they think this is because they've likely been exposed to it all their lives in doses because English is such a dominanting language globally. It's easier to pick up for this fact.
