Woah! Never ever stand between the tailgate and the trailer when the truck is being backed up. He may have already put it in park, but it looked like it was still moving. Mistakes happen and that's a good way to get cut in half. As for your propane issue, those tanks come out and in under a half hour you could have them filled at a gas station and back in your rig, heating it up. Another tip, is when you open your tanks to use, open only one side. Yes, you'll lose heat for a minute when the tank goes empty, but you can just go turn the other one on and you'll KNOW when it's time to fill up a tank. Also, get or make checklists for hooking and unhooking. The time you don't use a checklist you're likely to make a mistake and drop the rig on your truck.

Sandra Westley from the UK we do maximum 400 miles, we don’t camp on road sides we book a site in the UK the reception often closes at 5pm so if we know we are going to be late we ring ahead, to make sure we know the gate safety number, in Europe they tend to close by 7pm of an evening. 40 ty years ago we would stop on the French Motorway Aires overnight but, thieves started robbing people who camped like that, they would put sleeping gas into the vents, so you slept through there break in, they then robbed you of all your holiday money and anything else they took a fancy to.

Lol 🤣 so sorry for laughing.....don't worry about being new...we went from a 19ft travel trailer to a 42 ft solitude fifth wheel....the third time we took it out we are at a campground found our campsite and we were backing into our site when we hit a sand patch and we sank and fell into a tree. The whole side of the fifth wheel was leaning into a tree had it not been for our slide toppers the tree would have taken out the whole wall. It took us an hour and the campground management and all the campers that came out to help get our fifth wheel off that tree lol

My wife and I bought an RV at the end of September 2020 and on our first trip a few days later we were late getting to our stop. At the time we were using Google Maps to guide us! We ended up on a one way dead end road and had to back up in pitch dark with only 30 minutes from the gate closing at the campground! This episode reminded us so much of our experience. Needless to say we now use an RV specific GPS. Love the God moment too (ultimate GPS)!

Great videos so far and you guys have a fantastic outlook on life. Since I have not seen your type of gooseneck hitch in the bed of your truck, I would just recommend the following from my past experience. When attaching up to any trailer, make sure the emergency trailer brake cable is hooked to the truck bed or bumper and not to the gooseneck hitch or to bumper hitch. The reason for hooking it up at a secondary point is if your goose neck, or bumper hitch has a structural failure while towing, the cable will still be connected to the truck to activate the brakes. On most Ford trucks, there is a hook on lower corners by the tale gate. Safe travels

Saw you all going down 75 in Florida on Thursday! Can't miss the green mod, lol! We were going north from rv show. Bought our first 5th wheel there at the show. Montana High Country 377fl. The one you have is the other floor plan we were considering. It's not at the show - was disappointed. We are not newbies - been doing this for over 25 years and both of our parents had rvs so it's in our blood, lol. This will be rig 4 for us but new to 5th wheels. So on a learning journey that hopefully will continue for a long while. Looking forward to getting to know you both better. Good luck and safe travels!

Plan to stop by 3PM. Never try to get into a campsite after dark. Get an earlier start and don't drive so many hours in the day. Your GPS will tell you that you will arrive at a certain time but you need to add about 2 hours to that time. Take your time, watch lots of You Tube videos, that's how I learned. Good luck and God bless!

You are about to have the greatest time of your lives. You need to do it safely. Some suggestions. First, as you have heard do not stand in the way of the truck or rig. Find a place and stay a week or two just living in your new home and see how everything works. You have a BIG RIG... until you are 100% comfortable, PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT or DO NOT PLAN TO DRIVE MORE THAN 200 - 250 MILES PER DAY MAX. This is a suggestion to keep you AND others safe. Loosing a rig in a ditch is a minor problem on the list of bad things that can happen. Enjoy the "journey" don't rush to "destinations." Don't be afraid to ask for help. The community you have joined (RV'rs) can be some of the kindest most helpful people you will meet. There will be a time in the near future, because you are now full-time, that you will pay all this forward and help the next "newbie." Enjoy each and everyday and cherish every experience.... good and bad.

Welcome to the world of RV' living. Some things you need to get, if you haven't already got them. 1. Get a dehumidifier to keep down the moister in your unit, so you don't get mold grow in it. Get a electric one from amazon, or some place that sells them. 2. Get a water filter/purifier to make sure you have clean and better tasting water. 3 Get a good surge protector to keep your electrical system safe from surges, at some parks. 4. get a step down plug from a 50amp to a 30 amp not all parks offer 50 amp service. 5. get two bigger ABC rechargeable fire extinguishers one for the bedroom and living room. the small one you get from he dealer is pretty much useless.

Hello fellow Kansan's! Found your channel this week and am excited to follow your adventures. We home base in Southwest Kansas (Near Dodge City). We part time the RV lifestyle, spending usually 3 months on the road then home base for a month or so. (We're currently on a "Texas Tour".) We can tell you're in "Newbie phase 1" commonly known as "Vacation Mode" . Slow down and take your time...that will eliminate a lot of mistakes...Also use a check list, it will keep you from making serious mistakes like forgetting to latch you hitchpin.

Just found your channel the day you left, love it. And I get it about your dog. We have a 5th wheel and we are planning on buying a motorhome next year as my husband retires in 2 years and we will be pretty much be full timers with a house to come back to during the winter here in Southern Ca.

This was hilarious. We really enjoy watching you both. My husband and I are hoping to become part-timers pretty soon. Love seeing that people in our “age range” are embracing and enjoying this. We appreciate being able to learn from your mistakes! LOL safe travels.

That looks like a nice rig. The only thing I saw that was told to me from the get go, is to never get between your trailer and tow rig. If something goes wrong it could be very bad. I do like that you both have a good sense of humor about it. That is what makes it all memorable.
