I was very very lucky and indebted that we had you and got the opportunity to spent quite sometime with u, n hear your thoughts n words of wisdom..You have been my ideal since my school days, the principles, the way you work, the way you interact with people and your way of solving complex issues I have seen very closely..learnt a lot and imbibed in my daily life also or at least tried my best.. not a day goes without thinking of my school days.. It was really a rejuvenating one...reminded me of my college days at Shilpamandira, when we used to attend the Golden Jubilee Hall...its great that though I am miles away still i'm able to receive your motivation... Its indeed the need of the hour..the rapid pace at which our society is advancing without any direction..there is a massive degradation of quality everywhere... As u said, we just need to slow down a bit and adjust our sails in the proper direction...though it may take some time..but we will land up on the right shore... While treating of Marxism let's not tend to forget the plight of the poor, while treating of Freudianism let's not forget the Rationalist hatred for every form of madness and the irrational, while treating of Darwinism let's not forget the sway priestcraft long held over the mind of the laity. You seem to be hurling one liners on these schools of thought so as to dismiss them altogether. The approach, I am afraid, is superficial. For example, there is a scope for enquiry into the kind of Socialism Vivekananda had in mind when he did pronounce his famous words on that philosophy. Yes, that wasn't Marxism, surely, given the caveat he had entered in one of his letters to AKHANDANANDAJI. But what was the form of Socialism which had inspired our foremost revolutionaries has so far eluded our Vivekananda scholars who had dealt with the subject, like Swami Someswarananda ( Mitra Kautilya)!! They (in the same way as you dealing as you are with the problems of the modern man)-- have failed to think beyond Marxism! A more holistic and informed discussion on the topic in question is called for.
