Some advice from a retired pioneer of the Automotive industry…. Blowing out the interiors prior to vacuuming is an excellent concept, However, I highly suggest getting a quality filter / water separator for your compressor. I’m literally watching your video right now and I can see the stagnant/ pungent water (from the compressor) being absorbed into the fabric & rugs. This is going to leave a musty smell and promote mold growth. It’s a simple fix and your customers will appreciate it down the road…. 👍🏻

Hi Craig... i am a cobbler in Florida near Gainesville. i use Super glue for some of my repairs... instead of having to hold the superglue till it dries... i use an excellerant... to speed up dry time... takes 5-10 seconds. just be careful not to get glue on fingers while you spray excellerant... the glue heats up instantly and will smoke. do not breathe either... have a fan blowing fumes away... look up using baking soda with super glue...on youtube... lots of uses... i use to fill in these cheap ladies boos that have hollow heels.... then grind level to attach new heel material...i use the super thin superglue for that...with excellerant !!! the result can be sanded very smooth & is hard as a rock...similar to fiberglass.

@@stevechamberss3237 I've seen how my buddies run their used car dealership and I've worked in a dealership. It's not like that from what I have seen. Then again, my buddies cherry pick and buy really nice cars that don't need much reconditioning. They also left a retail location and moved to a warehouse because they did not want the headache that walk-in buyers bring. They post 100 pics of every car they sell and do most of their sales online. They cater to buyers all over the country. It's a different business model than your typical used car lot. Craig, why don't you have a foam cannon? The dry sump tells you it's a Z06. Only the LS7 got the dry sump. I think we should start using "German" as a verb. That Z06 got fully Germaned. The only problem with a reconstructed title is that the value is affected by the fact that many prime lending banks won't finance it. As a result, your loan might have a higher interest rate. Of course this can be avoided by paying cash.

2008-2010 are known for dropping valves due to crappy 2 piece exhaust valves and a machining error that caused rapid guide wear. Good chance the car has bad guides if the heads have never been off to fix. The failures usualy happen around 50k miles. You might want to remove a couple valve springs and check for guide wear or to see if the heads have been "fixed" with new stainless exhaust valves and bronze guides. Last thing you need is to sell the car and have the motor puke a couple months later.

Craig, great work, but for $30K, there are still some serious issues with this Z06. Wrong front fenders, panel fitment, paint cracking, torn leather, etc. Did you ever end up checking that the frame was aluminum? With all the weird Z06 emblems, and wrong panels, it might be a Grand Sport in disguise. (Z06 "tribute") What did the VIN reveal? Matching numbers? Either sell it for $20K or keep it and drive it like you stole it!!
@badlsxgarage2 жыл бұрын
I was looking for comments of someone questioning if this was a Z or grandsport. And here it is. I would definitely be looking closer. If it's not aluminum frame car it's not a Zo6. Period! But if it is a salvage Zo6 and has been hit in the front, someone has put grandsport front fenders on it with zo6 badges.
@badlsxgarage2 жыл бұрын
And I cant tell but does it have a removable top? If it does it is NOT a Zo6. ZO6 Came with a fixed roof.
@2001joeperales2 жыл бұрын
It is indeed an ls7 Z06, you can tell by the flat runner intake manifold that only the ls7 came with. It does have the wrong Grandsport fenders and the optional Grandsport twisted spoke design wheels. I didn't see any latches for the removable targa top so it is a fixed roof. I've owned a c6z06 since 2012 so I'm kinda of a c6z06 need. Just a fun fact for everyone the brake pads AutoZone sent were the right ones. The c6z06 uses a padlet for each piston of the brake calipers.

I hated them up until the new rear motor models came out. However, all of a sudden I'm beginning to like/LOVE these models as well. This car is freaking beautiful. The only thing that would have me concerned is the frame or whatever is causing the body gaps. Can you share what is causing that and if it could be fixed? Depending on the outcome of the frame concern, I would keep it for the engine and use the car for racing or remove the engine and install it in the race car. If the frame isn't damaged then I would sell it. . I didn't think it would come out this nice. Like you, rebuilt titles don't scare me as long as I build that into the price I'm paying for the car. Either way, I look forward to learning more about the framework and your decision.
