Got one from ose. Looks stellar. I removed the shaft to regrease it and noticed how much resistance when turning the prop by hand (shaft not inside collet). Also when trying to push the shaft inside the collet it's kinda hard so it's definitely out of alignment. I think real quality starts with precision assembly. Gonna do what you did here. Thanks so much.

Yes theyre better boats than traxxas in my opinion but ive never heard of anything like this in a spartan or m41

Thank you for this helpful video. I was excited to take my new SonicWake V2 out to the river but on pre-water inspection I was getting a very loud bad vibration coming from the motor area. Disconnected the collet and the motor sounds fine with no flex shaft connected. Re-greased and connected and it sounded good for a few seconds then it was back. Was this the same issue you are fixing with the spacer? My stuffing tube gets hot almost immediately. So much for a RTR boat!

Yes thats exactly the problem i had as well, just test the alignment like i did and adjust as needed

Great Tips! 👍 Thanks! 🙂 Did this alignment of the shaft and motor help? It's a pity you didn't show it at the end of the video. Have you replaced the factory silicone tube in the stuffing tube? Someone wrote earlier that it is too tight.

Yes i should have plugged it in hey. Its only been out once so the teflon liner shouldnt need looking at yet, at least i hope not lol

My v1 looks like it melted the liner inside the stuffing tube. The rcbb liners are thicker and larger diameter and wont fit the proboat tube. Looks like nothing was lined up and they just ran it until everything melted. Ill find a grommet or some rubber hose and change the whole lot to rcbb gear. These boats overheat so the misalignment would be part of the problem to. No adjustment on the stock stinger is a joke. Very poorly made compared to a TFL. I dont trust the motors in them , they lock up or die all the time. They have replaced the esc with a hobbywing 180 , can bet the dynamite 120 cooked or cut out all the time.

I just got the boat yesterday and holy whine noise. I lined up the flex cable lubed it and still it whines

My blackjack has terrible vibrations on high rpm , I have done a adjustment allready as it was not aligned but still vibrations. Anything else I can check here ? Shaft has been greased to. Thank you

Prop not balanced maybe, try spinning flat out without it

@@RCBoatBitzthx for the quick reply, tried and it’s same. Boat is new and hasn’t touched the water yet hahaha. Ahmm looking at it seems that the stuffing tube has a minor wrinkle in the bend and also appears to be aligned slightly side ways with the strut . Maybe the reason, seizes a bit maybe ?

Same thing happened today. On the first run. The thing you put the shrink wrap under melted. I tried fixing but it’s still making the loud noise.

The shaft probably isnt lined up perfectly with the motor

The switch broke on mine after 3 times. Horizon sending a replacement.
