This looks amazing. I'm sure this has been asked before but why can't current multiplayer games keep up this quality? For example, Battlegrounds is looking like a great new game in early access and based on UE4. But the gfx are nowhere near this level of quality. Personally, I am waiting for a large open world shooter with these kind of maps.
@PurePolygons7 жыл бұрын
Craig G Thanks Craig, it could be for multiple reasons. Generally though if a game is trying to allow for as many consoles as possible, they will make it work for the lowest hardware, which unfortunately hurts the graphics all the way up to the best hardware. and generally multiplayer needs more cuts to get it to run at a higher fps since so many characters are on screen at once

If I purchased this would I be able to implement this to have more than just a single season? Could I create large biomes for example, also does this support level streaming.
@abr18296 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm considering buying this Is it possible to integrate all your assets with "Orbit Weather and Seasons"? It allows to create a time scale with seasons that scroll, and I have already been able to integrate another asset called "Physical Water Surface" (which adds buyoancy waves and some physics), it allows me to have a larger wave amplitude depending on the Orbit wind. But your landscape detail is much better, as well as some weather effects
@arunmrao27 жыл бұрын
looks great - how did you transition between summer/winter scenes in real time - was it video editing or UE4 programming ?

@ghostknight18656 жыл бұрын
@PurePolygons: I'm thinking about buying this, but I have a question: how high / extreme can the snow effects get? I'm looking to build a sort of "desert planet covered in ice" map, and I want the ability to really make thick snow, like 1m tall snow that hinders and slows player movement. Is that possible with this pack?
@PurePolygons6 жыл бұрын
Hi there Ghost Knight, You can easily tweak the snow settings to basically turn into a blizzard if you wish. You can change snow fall quantity and wing direction to see it get crazy! Also editing the snow FX themselves is decently easy if you want to simply open it up and tweak it you can also. Cheers!

Jacob i can use my own terrain? created in World Machine and use this awesome features procedural?
@PurePolygons7 жыл бұрын
Hi Luciano, you can definitely use the heightmap that you get from World Machine and apply it to the landscape. You will have to adjust some settings if you want to the landscape to have the same painting settings as the look you get from world machine. But if you have used Unreal before you should be able to handle it no problem :)

Looks amazing! Just a quick question, when the water freezes, can you walk on the ice? Or is it purely visual?
@PurePolygons5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vas, Currently this is only being applied to a shader. You would need to set it up in blueprints to create a collision volume once the ice reaches a certain threshold that you would assume a player could work on. Cheers!

Is this supposed to be kinda an uprgaded (added features) version to vol. 1? Or would I buy both vol. 1 and vol.2? I read the FAQs but I didn't get a clear answer. So in other words, if I bought just vol. 2, I wouldn't be missing out on anything from vol.1, or is this not true
@PurePolygons7 жыл бұрын
Hi there 14104, This is an entirely new pack compared to Vol. 1. With new assets, new features, new art content and is only related to Vol. 1 because it is using a similar name to represent that the pack is Procedural. So buying only Vol. 2, you would be missing out on all of the content from Volume 1. I hope that helps! - Cheers

Is this for game development? If I used these beautiful assets and environment for a game (with reasonably complicated gameplay) would it run smoothly?
@PurePolygons7 жыл бұрын
Hi Laird, Yes that's correct this is for game development. That depends on a lot of factors of course, based off of the hardware in your computer, if it's an online multiplayer game or local single player, as well as any additional optimization steps and settings you adjust with the pack. It can be made to run very smooth with aggressive LOD settings and some adjustments to foliage fade out distances or disabling landscape tessellation. It all depends on what you are going for. I hope that helps!
@DemonPuppyJohnson7 жыл бұрын
thanks, I am still blown away by how beautiful this pack is. Why isn't there just tons of games that use environments like this? If I saw a game with an environment this good looking I would be immensely impressed!
@PurePolygons7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Laird! I like to think it's because of the time and effort and attention to detail that I put into the artwork for this pack. I also work too much sometimes haha, but that's always better for you guys in the end result of course :D Hopefully we will continue to see more games with high quality environments in them. All the best - Jacob
