Pls don't say that it's painful !! It's completely not ! I am a braces user and trust me on this it's not painful at all and about tooth extraction so it's not extracted in every case , it's only extracted in the cases where it's really needed for spacing that's it and about injection it's not painful at all infact it is same as when you get a injection on ur hand , like it pins for half a second and then then you don't feel the pain neither of injection nor if the tooth extraction cuz it's anesthesia that is given to you so that you won't feel the pain . It lasts for 4-5 ours with some bleeding which is normal but then it stops and when the anesthesia is out of your system then you will have to take the medications prescribed by your dentist immediately. It's basically for not catching any infection around the open wound and a painkiller is also prescribed if in case you feel any pain . And also these days there are many types of braces so this is the process of the old wired braces, there is a different line of treatment for every type of braces. It's ur choice which one would you be choosing . Also one more thing no doctor takes out all the 4 teeths togather in just one sitting, you'll be having 4 different or more sitting for the tooth extraction , it's not possible or else you won't be able have anything except water so no dentist do this and pls don't get afraid of the injection part it's necessary if you are getting wired braces as today no one can bear the pain of tooth extraction without anesthesia. Pls don't be afraid of braces, i am left with 6 moths treatment of this braces and you won't regret it at all. 😊😊 All the best ✌🏻

For those worrying about Tooth removal part - trust me it is the least painful part 😃. Pain is only because of wire ends .

I got my braces in 5 days ago, there is nothing to worry about. No extraction is needed but only if you have extra teeth. There are no needles or drills involved. The only pain you get is the first 4 to 7 after you get them on.

No injection was given to me. It was a painless and smooth process. Only for a week, the strain remains & after that you will be used to it.

No it doesn't pain at all when the doctor puts on the braces but after the application of braces there would be pain and also you may face difficulty in eating but the pain lasts only for 2-3 days and then it becomes normal

For those who are panicking: Dentist is not gonna do anything with your teeth except if you have extra teeth. There is no pain at all but it is gonna pain a bit after 3,4 hours and it will last for 6-8 hours. It can be uncomfortable for a week but it'll be normal after that

Its not painful at all, especially the tooth extraction, we don't feel a thing. The only painful part for me was the teeth separators which is put few days before placing braces. Other than that, its just small blisters due to wires

Braces arent painful at all, your teeth feel sore for the first two to three days after getting them and after every appointment, but thats only for two to three days. Also for a week youll have ulcers inside but taking saltwater rinse can sooth the burning. You can get orthodontal wax, but i never used it. Im not an orthodontist but these are the things that worked for me.

Also the injection is to numb the pain during extraction (anesthesia administration), and its almost like a mosquito bite. And extraction is not required in some cases. Im guessing it all depends on space in your jaw.

Had 6 teeth removed. Two wisdom and four premolars. The wisdom teeth are the painful ones but I have had no pain whatsoever out of the premolars. Just sensitivity of course bc eating anything sharp is a no no 😅
