so should the leaves be saved as well? what to do with them?

+Aleksandr Yatskevich You can dry the leaves and use them for tea. That is much more sustainable than harvesting the roots and studies show that many of ginseng's active constituents are found in the leaves as well.

How long do I have to wait in between ginseng Plantings? A year, two, Seven?
@exforestfarming9 жыл бұрын
+Penney's Automotive Service Center Inc. It will take two years for a ginseng seed to sprout as it needs two winters for the seed to fully germinate. After sprouting, it's best to wait five years or more before harvesting the root. Larger, older roots command a greater price and have a higher level of ginsenosides (the main bioactive compound in ginseng). You can plant ginseng before the ground freezes, but the harvest should be delayed until the plant is at least five years old, although opinions vary on this.

+Forest Farming I understand the sprout and growing process, but what I was asking was after processing the plant root how long should I wait before replanting the bed. I heard Ginseng puts out a chemical which will not let you replant right away in the same bed. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
