Well, we did it. Jamie and I processed our first birds and successfully processed 46 ginger broilers. It was a long day, both physically and mentally exhausting, but we got it done! Such a rewarding experience!

Thanks for sharing the process and being so respectful. I've been a vegetarian for 20 years, but I know the value and benefit our animals bring. You're appreciated.

@@LazyLabAcres Thank you these videos are very helpful in the transition to wanting to leave the city and build a homestead its a lot to contemplate. I am a lone wolf so I am debating what I want to do and where. I am a 51 year Florida native, have been eyeballing Tn, Mo, Ar for a good while now just not sure about doing it solo but staying in the city looks more dire every day...

Just found your videos and they are great! I absolutely love how you took time to reflect, or thank or pray over the bird before you dispatched it. Respect. You and your wife and family keep up the great work!

Really glad to find this video. Thank you for sharing the more intimate details of this process. I’ve recently begun a similar journey as yours going from apartment living to farm living, and it’s both a mental and emotional struggle to start harvesting animals for meat. After your video I feel more confident and equip to harvest chickens… thanks for the heartfelt video.

Thank you for sharing this process. Looking forward to seeing more videosfrom you. Wife and I are looking into becoming more self sustaining. We have been gardening for a few years…. Now we have 5 hens as well…we are looking into expanding our efforts into a larger 4 acre plot in the near future 🌈😃🤙

Great video bro. You really showed a lot of respect to another living thing. And I like your comment that it’s necessary when it’s for a purpose. I hunt and I feel the same way when I take a deer, turkey, or dove. Much respect to you brother.

We are still working on adding to our egg laying flock, but we definitely want to do meat birds as the next step. The butchering is definitely the only part I’m really scared of. This was an encouraging video. Thank you.

Awesome! We literally have our first Cornish crosses sitting in our brooder at about 4 days old. Few more weeks and they’ll go out to pasture. We still need to build that Suscovich tractor this weekend.

What breed of chicken did you go with. We got Cornish Cross birds this year. Been doing them in batches of 15. In 7 weeks got up 5- Lb birds. we went 8.4 weeks with 13 and they started getting fat on them. So stick with the 7 week area. We did do 18 last week that were only 5weeks and averaged 4.5 Lbs. We have 16 to go in a couple of weeks. The heat is what had us do the 5 Wk ones. You did great. Only thing I would try and change is were you stand to prosses them. A little muddy. But you do what you can. We have a cement area. Be safe and thanks for sharing. I'm in Iowa

These were ginger broilers. Definitely would like a set up that won't be muddy, but we had to work with what we have at the moment. Thanks for watching!

I subscribed your channel because i thought you love your pets, very nice chicken coop you build attracted my attention. I am extremely sad to find out that ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY that you are willing to kill, look at their eyes, they are innocent animals, how could you????? 😢 😡😭😭😭 This is why I became vegetarian, I don't want any part of it. I UNSUBSCRIBE.
