Does ReCap Photo provide a DSM file that I can use in Virtual Surveyor? Also, Does Recap Photo provide a KML file to use in Google Earth Pro?

Dear: I’d like to thank you for your effort. But I have a question about Recap Photo, when I want to create a 3D from aerial option, and when photos uploading is completed and process begins, I encountered an error and unfortunately I don’t know what is the problem. So, can you help me fixing this error? Thank you again.

Thanks! Mine is showing longitude and latitude in degrees and altitude in meters. Any idea on how to change them so it appears as X,Y,Z? (all in meters)

I collected 297 images with Phantom 4 pro v2 and cloud processed it with ReCap photo. The ortho image downloaded after processing had latitude and longitude values but when this image was imported in Civil3D R12, no coordinates system worked. It had the image coordinates in mm which have no meaning in mapping project. I am working on 30 days free license. Also I had no GCPs. The images were geotagged. Now I cant work ahead because the 30 days are over. How can I purchase cloud credits without knowing the end results. Please advise.

how many photos we can add in one project?
@PereMersenne5 жыл бұрын
8:44 He said it was based upon how many Cloud Credits you want spend on your project. He did NOT say what the maximum number of photos A360 will except. I, also, would like to know what the max. is.

I am interested in learning more about the capabilities of AutoDesk Recap for the documentation of cultural heritage - specifically sculptures and not entire building facades. I need to be able to create 3d models that are accurate enough for me to pull dimensions and measurements for construction purposes, ideally up to 1mm in accuracy. If I set up ground control points during the time of survey, will these control points allow me to pull accurate measurements from the model in the software or will it just geo-locate my data? Would I be able to scale the model manually using a measured distance between two points?

To achieve 1mm accuracy, you will need extremely tight control and run scans using a mutli-station, not a drone. I hope you have received an answer over these 3 years from another source, but this question might have to go straight to Autodesk staff if ReCap can stand behind a 1mm accuracy guarantee.

Jeff: as per usual an excellent video. I wish all were as good as yours. Question: we have been processing aerial images using a combination of services such as Drone Deploy trying to get a handle on what works best. We'd like to switch everything to the Autodesk system(s) so using Recap Photo to C3D would be ideal. Can you please explain how cloud credits work? Autodesk employees can plainly NOT explain it. What we need to know is if cloud credits (100) renew each month with the subscription? We would get the AEC collection but it is not clear what the true cost would be if we switch to using it to process aerial images for use in C3D. Hope this makes sense. Again, thanks for a really great video.

Hello mr. Jeff I am a Civil engineer and I am very interested in drone mapping technology. Please, I have some questions for you to help me. 1- which drone brand is better for mapping? 2- can I get pictures and processing maps with (1cm) accuracy? 3- does there additional equipments used with drones to capture more accurate pictures like gps equipments? 🙏

1. What are you gonna be flying for? You'll need to choose between a Fixed Wing and Rotary (Copter), but you'll need to take into consideration the area. If your mapping an area that's big I would say Fixed Wing will do good such as an Ebee, smaller condensed area a DJI Phantom will do good. 2. I would suspect its possible (expensive for the right drone and camera) with processed maps or ortho images as long as you have some ground control in your project that is good. 3. A lot of bigger brand DJI, Ebee, etc. have RTK units attached just like a gimbals it can be installed onto the drone to accurately geo-reference each image.
