How amazing that you got your own pins! I never knew pin making was such an involved process!

It's just outdated production. Today everything is much simpler.

Just they use alternatives to reduce price or quality or production time .

The title says they’re luxury pins. Ordinary ones definitely aren’t made like this!

Японцы все процессы усложняют, лишь бы занять делом людей. Целым заводом делают дешёвые значки из меди.
Ho boy does this bring back memories! In about 1978, my first "real job" was at a place that made glass enamel pins. Similar to the beginning of this, but all the recessed areas would get filled ...grain by grain with a dental pick... with colored enamel sand. I'd have a tray of 50+ pins that I'd just spent all day filling, then have to pick it up and SLOWLY walk across the room to the kiln and slide it in. One wrong jiggle and you lost most of the days work!

Oh yeah, someone else in the comments mentioned about losing a finger in the press? Yeah, guy did. Thank god I was out at lunch when it happened! I was too young to deal with that.... 🤢😵

With that many people handling them through so many process steps, these definitely won't be cheap.

Those look absolutely stunning. Loved the blue factories with the chrome gear, then they whipped the blue off.

These old machines are awe inspiring. The amount of attention to detail is incredible. These pins must be quality pins. How does a company like this survive in modern times? How much does a pin like this cost? Does the name of company, Amita, have anything to do with Amida Butsu?

Wow on the plating was fascinating. My late father did that for his first real job for a few years before he became a salesman. Now I see exactly what he did as he never said how it was done or what he did it on. It was like pulling teeth to get dad to say what little he did. When he came home from work he never talked about it. He did it before he got married. I always wondered what he did before he sold oxygen and Co2 tanks. Talk about being relatable.

Wow. This is wonderful. One of those pins would make for a great viewer giveaway. I know I would love to own one after seeing the whole process. ❤️
good job on the musical accompaniment. most industrial documentaries on here add overbearing soundtracks. this one was perfect, not too loud and fit the subject.

Fabulous badge design and the finished ones looked superb. There were 11 badges at one stage and only 8 finished badges. Were some kept at various stages to show the steps? Are you selling the badges as channel merchandise?

There really is no substitute for skill and experience. The good stuff costs more money because people made it, they didn’t hand the materials to a machine. Sure, you can whack out mountains of cheap tat from a factory in the same time it took to make those badges; but those badges will last longer and be more thoroughly cherished.
