Starting Proverbs in October to stay consistent. A chapter a day, typed in my first chapter & found this page (I don’t believe it’s coincidental). Reaching me 10 years later, and I’m so grateful. God bless! 🙏

The beautiful thing is even tho it's 10 years old. Everything he is saying is absolutely relevant
@djladylovequeenofhearts10 ай бұрын
Wow, 10 years later, this is all so relatable and relevant. Unlike your Mom, my Mom always said, don’t bother stuff, that doesn’t bother you; I.e ‘Don’t Steal’. So, I grew up, not locking doors, and constantly, putting myself in jeopardy of having things stolen. But, the ironic thing is, that there was a time, when I did not, heed her advice, and stole things myself. But, I digress…. Hello Mr. Brown, I am Mz White, and I am revisiting your content (I became aware of it In October which also has 31 days)for the 2nd time. Thank you for sharing and teaching, I am grateful! My 3 take aways, are ‘Wisdom is portrayed as a Woman’! Hence, ‘Wise Woman’! The 1st sign of a wise person is the Fear of God, from a reverence standpoint! Lastly, Apply Wisdom and you will live a life of abundance, peace, happiness and joy! Let’s keep the Faith until the last amen 🙏🏾

I've always approached the fear of the Lord as among other things... The fear of being separated from him. The fear of living life in a way that doesn't please him.

Yes … same here (I’ve messed up enough to know, I need him & would NOT want to live without his love, peace, mercy, & protection).

God bless all of us that want to study the book of proverbs
@rickbecker32776 жыл бұрын
God lead me to read Proverbs many years ago and reading it really turned around my understanding. Studying it for three months i learned the answer to why it was written. Look at chapter 1, verses 2-6. Its much, much more than it appears. The book of Proverbs is a text book, an instruction manual to learn how God reasons. Solomon in 1 Kings 1:9-12 and 2 Chron 1:10-12 asked for 1) knowledge 2) understanding and 3) wisdom. Why? So he could be a good king - that in itself is good but he continued- over God's people! He didnt claim them as his (ie these are my subjects) but knew he was a shepard over God's flock. God gave him what he asked for and also what he didnt ask for. And then he did a great thing, he wrote down what he was given! Proverbs is More than what we see, it teaches us how God reasons, understands and unlocks such a deeper understanding of Scripture - i truly want more people to read, study and allow it to show us how God's reasoning differs greatly than the greek system the world teaches. Let Proverbs transform your understanding to God's thoughts and so much of Scripture will truly transform your mind!

I am so glad you wrote this. I was just reflecting how I feel sometimes those who teach the Bible kind of abate Proverbs. No it is not doctrine but I believe related to how doctrine lives in us or how it can alter us or how doctrine plays out...what it looks like when we do not have God as ruler. Thank you.
@thomasjackson77853 жыл бұрын
That is very thorough. On the note of writing things down I will add a suggestion. When you want to improve/lengthen your prayer time? Write your prayers down, it is easier to remember the written word then to be at war in prayer and stand against the schemes that we all face. A little off topic.

I’m in a couple of bible studies within my church and I’ve been learning but continued to live in lust. I believe the holy spiritual has guided me to read the proverbs because I’ve been taking advantage of Gods grace and I really need to fear him more. Please pray for me as I turn away from pornography and the flesh and aim to improve my relationship with the father and please my spirit. My name is Nate.

I seek understanding, it's apart of my prayer before I read the sword of the spirit, this does not mean, I stop and pray for understanding before I read the next verse. Gaining an understanding will eventually leed me/us to knowledge of the good book and possibly wisdom in our future years.

Have for some reason been stuck between proverbs 16 right up to 20. Am in no rush to finish the Bible. Am also reading various other parts of the Bible. I only own a few books that I will never stop reading, nore will I ever read it from cover to cover. Some Bible verses require more than reading to understand, I often have a list of verses that require further investigation on my part or verses that stop me in my tracks. I am sure this happens to many!

I was called to start reading this book tonight and this is the first of many videos I have been looking to watch on Proverbs!! Recently God has been making it clearer to me that it is so important to not cherry-pick verses in His word when looking for understanding. The context of each verse is SOOOO important!! Now, this isn't to say that learning memory verse isn't a good thing because memory verses are sooo great to learn-- but just to yk make sure you are aware of what the actual verse is referring to! Anywho... Just some thoughts of recently, Have a blessed night! :)

Just added the complete video library of this series to my library. I have said to my wife, I doubt I will ever be done with the book of Proverbs. I have my reasons for this and it literally comes down to the Book of wisdom and knowledge (which is what Proverbs is to me). Many may disagree, that's fine. Whatever floats your boat as mine isn't sinking!

Not wrong just checked Bible.is only listened to a small section of it. Now it's one of my go-to's when I don't have access to my Bible which is rare. I am not saying I never forget to take my Bible, the more direct point is being able to read the Bible where ever I am (shower isn't an option as I am not a rich man nore a poor man so one of those televisions in the shower isn't possible nore would I ever want such a waste of money, that money better serves God's Will whether it be homeless people or other options). 🏆🙏

My dad and mom always tell me to read the Bible but I was too stubborn, probably still am because I'm barely considering it now. I was stubborn because every time I try to read I just don't understand it and it bothers me that I can't pronounce the words. Well what I'm trying to say is that I want to be able to understand the words of God. So please help me out, would you.

1:08, there is A Place where people cannot steal, for sure!, so your mom's words are true to certain extent but not all the way, to the extent to those who only lay up treasures where "thieves brake through and steal and moth and rust corrupt"
