I am not a huge fan of the books so I never mind Peter Jackson changing things. I have to say I loved the idea of Legolas having a sad love story going on. But I never expected to love this girl so much! And her thing with Kili was totally unexpected and blew me away altogether!!! How amazing was that!!!

Everybody is so skeptical over Kili and Tauriel, but I fell for the two of them immediately. They are perfect for each other. And if they have to kill of Kili in the last movie (like in the book) I hope they do it with him trying to save her.

One of the best videos of the hobbit that i have found. Besides the romance between Kili and Tauriel is no more unlikely than the friendship between Legolas son of Thranduil king of Mirkwood and Gimli son of Gloin. I love this together.

Love between them is based on the archetypal love of the mortal body and the immortal soul. Kili is hero, he is our consciouness - male symbol and tauriel is immortal, woman symbol of psyche - soul. This story is story of our lifes and our death. Consciouness must died, becuse is mortal and soul must leave him, when death comes. Think about it. This couple is just one of many another symbols which Talkienen was insert to his novels.

Exactly, Legolas and Gimli became best friends in the book. So why is it impossible for an elf to fall in love with a dwarf, again? Something like that never happened in the bok probably because it was for kids and he never actually developed female characters that much...but if he allowed friendship, love is possible. I think this is what the director might have realized.

I didnt really like Tauriel...i loved that her character meant there were cute scenes with Kili (such as the scene in the elven prison. He was SO adorable in that bit!) but i didnt like them together at all as i didnt think it was right for Kili's character and the story line however i think this vid has changed my mind....beautiful. really beautiful. Love Kili so much and maybe Tauriel isnt so bad :)

Yes, it is going to be devastating! I don't know how a lot of us will get through it! I never read the book so was looking forward to the movie until I started reading posts and know at least what happens in the book and don't expect the movie to change from the book regarding who dies! I thought Jack dying in the Titanic movie was very sad but this will be much worse!

I mean that would be the end of a love between a dwarf and an elf and I think it could be in the battle of five armies that Kili maybe tries to safe Tauriel (I could imagine everything) and he dies...
