I’ve just run into a really odd issue… I’ve just pulled out the base of the wick using the smudge tool, and now I’m drawing in the black part of the wick (both on layer 3). As I paint it in, I get a white colour appearing around the edges of the wick. If I switch to layer 4, the clipping mask and use the eraser, I can erase the white parts, which then reveals further black strokes which are on layer 3. I’m definitely in paint mode, I’m using a dark colour and the hard brush at 100% opacity. Level 4 is a clipping layer. Neither layer 3 nor layer 4 are in alpha lock mode. I sent a copy of the PSD file to my smaller iPad Pro and get similar results. I did go back to the larger iPad and turn of the clipping mask of layer 4, and found marks resembling the wick on this layer. But the wick was dragged and painted on layer 3. I must be missing something. I must have done something wrong along the way, but can’t reconstruct the sequence. Has anyone else had an experience like this that provides an explanation?

Just wondering if you ever thought of recreating a bob ross painting so we can know which procreate brushes could be associated with his brushes.

Do we need specific brush for this tutorial or can we enjoy as a beginner without still worrying about buying any brush? I'm not here not to appreciate for this tutorial, but since I'm a beginner who's still not sure which one i want to do, i want to enjoy first. Thank you so much.

Hi James I want to buy an iPad for digital art, what would you recommend for a complete beginner. I hope you understand my question, English is not my first language.

Could you please do some fantasy with your lanscapes by adding a character like a dragon. One thing I cant figure out, is how to add lighting and shading to characters like a dragon. It would be neat if you explained this concept. Whenever I add a charctwr to your lanscapes the shading and lighting on the characters don't match the scene.

Ive started watching your video's when haters dont believes my style is how make my images and struggle of how AI really destroyed my sort of hobby and im thinking doing video to shut them up but funny i drew on paper on that one hater haaaa and smh in front still said was AI smh hahaaa thank you that i found you and cool that brushes and blending and focus solid lines and visible for realistic effects i rather stay hobby not a career of my work been for 30 years plus but its just there for my depression or other but people dont understand that i draw when i want to and that is it.

Why did you use an AI-generated landscape for your intro logo? Why didn't you use some of your fantastic landscapes? ????
@JamesJulier-Artist14 күн бұрын
A third party made it for me, it’s only a cartoon representation of what I do, just like the iPad and Apple Pencil is simplified too
@mapachelimon14 күн бұрын
@@JamesJulier-Artist Yes, I understand the concept and purpose, but I was surprised to see a generic AI-generated landscape, having you tons of amazing illustrations. That AI generated logo is the complete opposite of the values you promote and show fabulously in your channel. I hope you take it as a constructive criticism, I don't mean it as an attack, I was just surprised to see something made by AI in a channel that shows elaborate illustration processes.
