Fantastic tutorial thank you James. Perhaps one day you might demonstrate how you go from references to a colour palette and then to a final painting. I like the style of these latest paintings, more like this please! Thank you

As far as color palette from a reference photo; in Procreate; you can also import the colors from a reference image as a color palette.

He did create a video awhile back on how he sets up a palette from a reference image. It’s 2 or 3 years old, I watched it a couple months ago, was super helpful.

I’m really enjoying these tutorials, I’ve done 5 so far. It would be great if there was somewhere we could post our versions of the paintings so that we could compare ours to other peoples and see how different or the same they are.

James, I amazed myself again!!! Your tutorial is so easy to follow. I made my painting from this tutorial as my phone’s locked screen wallpaper. The sunlight on the trees and the trail makes me happy each time I see it when my phone screen lights up throughout the day. Thanks for bringing the joy of digital painting into my life. Cheers!

Always waiting for your artwork on Sunday. Thank you for your exceptional tutorials made available to all on KZbin. I started painting again because of your tutorials. Hopefully someday you will introduce human drawings along with the natural scenery. Also, hoping to see your tutorials on city-life in future.

James, I just wanted to offer a suggestion that you may know already but thought someone might could use this. I have found grouping several layers that all go together is a nice way to adjust like size or moving it instead of merging because it still allows me to go back into each layer separately if I wanted to make a change. I was merging but then I was stuck with it after that and only way was to redo those layers. Just a thought for anyone that likes to leave on separate layers until the very end of their work. Just don’t forget to ungroup after the adjustment.
@JamesJulier-Artist5 ай бұрын
That’s very true! I tend to merge on the tutorials because I know people like fewer layers
@stacy54435 ай бұрын
@@JamesJulier-Artist yea I thought about that after I sent but for the size you do there are plenty of layers. At least until they are satisfied with it at the end and they can merge. I’ve also sold a couple of mine and have questions about colors in pics and if they can be changed, so keeping layers separate and just grouping when needed gives that ability to adjust without a lot of trouble. But hey! I’m learning from you and I love doing these paintings. Can’t wait to one day when I have an Apple Pencil and can retire my finger. I had just never seen a video of you grouping and making adjustments so I wasn’t sure if you knew that was an option for people. One last question and you don’t have to answer but I’m in Alabama in the states and I was just wondering, are you in the UK?
