Procuro Olvidarte - Kassandra Juarez - 2016 MVE Grand Champion Vocalist

Kassandra "Kassie" Juarez was selected as the Grand Champion “Vocalist of the Year” at the National Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza Vocal Competition in San Antonio, Texas. She performed with Rio Grande City’s award winning Mariachi Cascabel from Rio Grande City High School under the musical leadership of Daniel Renteria and Marcos Zarate. Kassandra’s stunning performance at the Lila Cockrell Theatre was part of the 22nd Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. She received a $2,000 scholarship from Bill and JoAnn Sims as winner of the competition and will represent the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza in 2017.
