To JK members, I know what you're thinking. That violin might look the same to the other violins so I will tell you why a lot of musicians buy the most expensive instruments that you might think it's pointless. I'm a pianist, so I know how valuable that violin is to her because when you are a musician or a classical music performer, you will see a huge difference between a cheap ass instrument and an expensive ass instrument. It might look the same, (before I studied music seriously, I thought it was the same) but you guys might be familiar with the Yamaha pianos. This piano brand is way cheaper than Steinway and Sons or Bechstein or bosendorfer which these 3 pianos or more are the price of a house! But in my personal opinion as a pianist, Yamaha is really f*cking shit to me. The sound from the piano is sharp and the keyboard is too light that its so difficult to play. (I personally don't like Kawai pianos because the keyboard is heavy and f*ck) But the Steinway and Sons is arguably considered to be the best piano of all time, so in my experience playing the Steinway it felt really f*cking different! The sound is so beautiful and the keyboard is really easy to play. Sometimes when you say like the instrument looks the same, it's pretty offensive because it's just like saying "Tesla is exactly the same as Toyota" which will be extremely offensive to car lovers. I understand why you guys think of that, but be aware of it ^.^

Those violins are different because the specific wood Stradivarius found in the Black Forest of Germany makes them sound entirely different to other violins. I heard one once on tv and it was beautiful. (I also used to play violin in high school.)

the way that insurance works is that you get indemnified for your loss, that means they replace you with your loss, you can never gain from it (at least not legitimately). so when they pay her out for the violin, they essentially own it now. kinda like a car accident, if you total your car, you get paid out for it, and they take the written off vehicle, then they will try to recuperate the losses by parting it out or sometimes even auction the vehicle off.

Damn fam. That violin probably had a very rich resonant sound because of that dense old wood that no other violin could mimic. The closest I can come to being upset about an instrument is when someone opened a locker and put aa don't know the bell of my tenor saxophone. It pissed me off but I didn't even know I had such an attachment to it until I was whiling the keys and pads (maintenance) and I saw the dint and rubbed my thumb over it actually feeling sad for my saxophone like it was a person. I sat there just holding it and ever since I've always treated my saxophone so delicately when taking it apart and putting it in its case.
