I found out that conflict management is the most valuable activity, and I can see why because I think that's the most valuable skill in the workforce.

Definitely a very useful skill! In behavioral job/internship interviews, they will often ask questions like "tell me about a time you handled a conflict, tell me about a time you disagreed/compromised with a coworker, tell me about a time you worked on a team etc." The employers want to see how you manage and mediate conflict in a professional and healthy way, so having activities that relate to conflict management can be helpful so you have those experiences! For me, being a Resident Assistant in college was an experience that dealt a lot with conflict management.

@@rachel_lin Yeah, these are all tough questions to answer, and you already have to have the answers ready before an interview. One approach is to explain that you can disagree without being disagreeable. Another approach is to explain you might have philosophical differences with a coworker as opposed to disagreeing with them. If you were on a team, you have to be able to explain that someone else wasn't doing their part, but you were a leader and got them to do their part and explain how. You don't want to say that everyone on the team got along perfectly and did their part without a hiccup. I'd be in trouble answering a question in regards to solving a conflict. I'd have to search my brain on that one. Thanks for the insight on potential questions.

88 degrees in phoenix this morning! Highs today 107! Excessive heat warning from 10:00 a.m. yesterday to 8:00 p.m. labor day! I'll be happy to see the hot weather end in the next 3-4 weeks or so!

Hi Rachel!! Thank you so much for this super helpful video. I was just wondering, for the UC list, how many slots on average, do students end up using? Is it beneficial to use all 20?
@rachel_lin4 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! I feel like most students usually use a majority of them. You definitely don't need to use all 20 if it starts to look like you're simply adding random activities that you only did for 1 year for a few weeks. Better to have more activities that you've done for multiple years of HS and for many weeks/hours - so quality over quantity!

hi Rachel, thanks so much for your helpful video! I was wondering whether the order of activities on the UC app mattered. Do the admissions officers look at them in order of how we (applicants) put them in, or are they reordered?
@rachel_lin Жыл бұрын
Should be in the order you put them in! So I would say to order your Activities with the most important/impressive/largest impact first and have the other activities later in your list!
