I agree with you!! I think it's interesting that I was ripped to shreds by other ARMYs for disliking the 'explicit'.... "he's an adult"...... "he's showing his mature side" F bomb loaded version of Seven, but now it's great that JK put out a clean version of this song. Some blame Harlow, but JK must have 'approved' the lyrics AND the message. I'm just glad I can show the other version to my very young grandchildren who love JK :) Borahae, ARMY grandma

A lot of times featured artist will take the opportunity to evolve the song instead of just continuing on the same exact patter (lyrically or vocally) that the lead artist was already on. It's a different technique which of course lands with some listeners & not others

Jack and the directors choices were costly for 3D. Jungkook's fanbase is overwhelmingly female, with more Asian, and older fans then Western artists and mostly unfamiliar with hip hop culture. The director could have smoothed out the rough edges of Jack's verses. Instead of the females being props, let them react naturally and show obvious displeasure at Jack's tacky lines: roll those eyes, push him away or slap his face. Not doing this lost 3D time and money. Many females are furious, others are turning on Latto's verse, older hip hop fans think Jack was lazy, and all these negatives are killing the stats for 3D. In 24 hours Seven received 39 million views, 3D has under 24 million views in 4 days. Seven's still charting at #2 after 78 days, while 3D is hoping to reach the top 10 in it's first week. People are slowly deciding to to support 3D now, but the damage is done. Seven has also been hurt by those who resent it's success since they were certain 3D would surpass it. JK will spend all this week, being the boyfriend who focuses on making his girlfriend smile again. JK, clean-up on aisle 7. Now, about it being acceptable in Korea, they will skip the offensive words, from what I understand. Also, I fully agree about JK's vocals being a master class in adding richness to songs using his skills alone. He's working at owning the entire song himself, sing rap, vocal stacking, flow changes, harmonies and adlibs. Can't wait to hear the album, but JK it's time to let go of these male rappers. Neither Snoop nor Jack helped him capitalize on the song which they featured. No time for spilled milk, back to streaming with me.

SK is HOOKED ON by Jeon Jungkook😭 back then in seven era they first charted clean version but then explicit one got over it and now they will stream whatever JK release cuz he always destroys their boundaries (also see tattoos and piercings)😭 mind you there is an alternative version w/o jack’s rap but the one charting on Sk music platforms is the og one and there’s no clean version for it😅 they are head over heels for him

Once again for those who refuse to believe it, like "Seven", this is not a Kpop song. This is an all English song written by British songwriter/producer David Stewart (living in L.A.), who was a songwriter of "Dynamite". It was conceived, produced and filmed in the U.S., very far from Kpop land. 💜

Part of the BTS hiatus was to pursue individual artistic choices which would enable members to subsequently return as a true global super group. I have always felt that BTS employing the Idol platform from the start as opposed to simply being a hip-hop group acted to impose restrictions. (granted as a bit of a hybrid) This choice came with the anticipation that their careers as Idols would recede in popularity after a number of years if they made it at all. BTS as it turns out wound up lasting way longer and is still growing with a global audience the magnitude of which could not have been anticipated when they debuted. For me when I look at Jungkook's choices, I see a guy who wants to morph into a Western styled superstar. His rebelliousness has been evident for years, think his tattoo sleeve and lip piercing in an Idol industry which wouldn't televise so much as one tattoo. The words in his songs seem like a natural sequitur, even if he adds Western rappers which make them raunchier. He is choosing what he likes from Western songwriter submissions, just like most Western artist material. Jungkook (and I believe other BTS members) would be happiest moving forward in their own ways as bona fide stars rather than as Idols in a corporate circus. Frankly, Idol music is a corporate creation aimed to profit from the inclinations of one gender in a wide variety of ways. Global stardom is less gender targeted and opens up a commercial audience which can digest hallyu much more effectively. That puts all things Korean in people's imaginations. Korea is center stage when everyone is comfortable experiencing it. The Idol industry has value but is only a steppingstone. BTS is uniquely positioned because BTS can introduce 7 new stars to the world and raise the prospects for others.

Jung Kook said himself what he wants. You are not a mind reader of Jung Kook. He obviously believes he can achieve his dream of becoming a huge pop star while still remaining a member of BTS. Otherwise he would not have signed a new contract. 💜

By now, I think we can all see and understand that all the members' solo work isn't really K-Pop at all. It's just plain Pop, Hip-Hop and RnB. There are practically no other songs in Kpop songs that sound like anything the members have produced, and just goes to show why BTS always stood out from the crowd to begin with. I would argue that all BTS music is quite distinct from K-Pop although there may be more similarities to K-Pop within the group music. They're making and have made previously wise musical decisions. Anyway, for all these reasons, Jack's verse didn't really shock me at all. Fans need to stop looking at these artists like asexual teens when they are grown men in their late 20's to early 30's (not a critique to you, but rather the larger community that's been so sensitive to the lyrical content of 3D. Like we didn't just have a whole song about s*x in Seven.

I really like the song, and this version is okay, however, I do prefer the alternative version without Jack's verses, plus there's more of Jungkook. So, here's the thing in regards to Jack, and I'm not defending him at all. I wasn't overly thrilled with his verses, but he didn't just pop out of nowhere and start rapping. His rap had to go through channels, and I'm thinking that Jungkook had to give the final okay or have some kind of input. This is not the first time Jungkook sang this song or the first time Jack did the verses. They went through the song, rehearsing it over and over. They recorded the song everybody in the studio heard the verses. And then they filmed this video and again, everybody heard it. If at any point anyone was unhappy, they would have said something. This is Jungkook's song, not his. They would not have gone another step if they thought something was wrong with his verses. Jack did what he was allowed to do. I read somewhere that Jungkook let Suga and I think RM listen to 3D before it was dropped, and they told Jungkook that he was a real pop star now. He's in the pop star lane... And he's not finished with us yet! "Dorothy, you're not in Kansas anymore."

this is why armys have been saying for years at this point that bts is NOT kpop. it seems like in order for some to fully get it they had to actually go here with the lyrics. like bts converse high literally hobi says he took namjoons girl and loves seeing the stars of her converse which you can only see if the legs are up. and yoongi said he dont want his girl to wear converse cause theyre too hard to take off. like bts has never truly been "kpop" and "kpop" has never truly been innocent anyway. theres so many more bold songs out there in korea by idols like icky by kard, love talk by wavy. etc just to name a few. but bts has always been consistent with the innuendos theyve said many times theyre glad they helped korean music expand but they also dont like that the industry restricts them from being more mature. every time bts tried to show maturity people wrote it off as something else so jk felt like he had to be direct and who knows what ot7s gonna do when they get back. like we got namjoon cursing on live now which he didnt used to do. we got jimin saying fuck. theyre all being more open about the fact they have relationships with women/partners both in lyrics they write and lyrics they dont write but agreed to sing. cause theyve always been the ones calling the shots about their music releases. jungkook chose latto and chose jack for a reason. now im hoping we get another megan collab so she dont have to make her lyrics less her style cause the butter remix was cool but i want some real hot girl energy with a bts collab. idk i think if people really read their lyrics and listened to every song they put out this wouldnt be such a shock. maybe slightly cause its jungkook but even then theyve been grown since blood sweat and tears thats when people shouldve let the "kpop" image go.

I really loved your reaction because it was very real! I was not as shocked when I heard jacks verse because I had this expectation that that’s what he was bringing to the table. It’s something Hybe and JK want because the target audience is no longer Korea...or even Army...JK wants to play with the big boys of the global music industry...to do this he can’t be too shy with these kind of lyrics and themes because this is now the norm in North America! You were not offended or shocked by this per se...it truly is quite tame compared to what’s usually in Western rap...you were shocked because you were thinking this is still kpop...well it’s beyond kpop now...I think Army and reactors will have to get used to that!

Yes, rather taken aback by Harlow's verse(s). I would have preferred just a JK song, actually, and in fact he DID that in the Alternate version on streaming platforms like Spotify, but no video. I really enjoyed the rest of the song and video too. It was fun. Jung Kook in a couple interviews mentioned that it is based on early 2000's R&B/Pop music. Anyway, his ad libs and vocals are great in this and even better in the alternate version. Thanks for the reaction. He also dropped a Performance Video, which is basically another MV, but Jack's verses are still in it and JK doesn't sing them.

I can feel 2000s vibe, the rhytm snd tempo is from yhis time snd he sings a little like then in parts. So I eould say it was simply inspired american pop music, bc MV looks like most american artist have I can think about like 6 MVs that have this vibe, and there is like soany for sure. So I don't think it is anything one simply style and look and vibe. I never listen to Justin so I don't know what you are talking with similarity hehe I only knew his solo songs that were played on radio in my coutry but it is like 3 song that I can think about and like I said radio so I never saw any MV 😁 Hmm why would this be kpop lyrics, JK promotion is more global so he is simply pop star. Latto or Jack verses totally were for me like there, simply and that's it like nothing wow, nothing shocking but slso nothing bad. Were there. I think Latto had more hard verse with going down on someone and all kinky talk. So hmm... I don't know what to think about this song, bc it grows on me, but there is some not clicking fully. For now Seven is better.
