the vanilla straps are made by benetto cinturini, who still make straps to this day for major brands. you can buy the generic ones from them in dozens of variations. they are a natural rubber, made in italy, and all smell like vanilla. they are very affordable (most under $50) and BY FAR the BEST accessory for any watch owner imo.

Pretty much all FMK (or other vulcanized straps) also have a vanilla smell. It's just to cover up the terrible stench , the same exact reason benotto's straps are vanilla scented.

Go ahead & spend some money on a watch. My obsession started on my birthday in October of last year, and I just got my 1st Royal Oak (black pvd - you rarely see them) last Thursday. Have 4 Rolex's, too! 2 Datejusts, 1 Daytona, and 1 Skydweller. If needed, I know that they're instant (within 24 hours) cash, no questions about it.

I think it's easy to hate on Hublot, but once you move past Nico and dive in a little deeper and read up about jean claude biver, you will see where Hublot sits in the watch world. It certainly is an expensive fashion watch brand with mostly off the shelf movements, but so are many other luxury watch brands in the same price category.

For those who are curious.. The reason that strap smells of vanilla is because it’s made of “REAL” Rubber from a rubber tree. They naturally smell like vanilla. Not something they add to the mix!! True story.

Bought my Speedy brand new 10 years ago, was £2800 but got it for £2200 as my mate was a manager at the Jewellers. Still have it today and it looks in great excellent condition still, Omega do a fantastic job on the service.

The tudor chrono is a poor man's rolex while many speedmasters sit in watch collections worldwide. There is a reason for it.

Hi Michael. You should make an episode, only with Breitling. It's a bit 'over-looked' since they in the past, made some big watches, with all polished cases and bracelets, a lot of bling. But they do make both comfortable and great looking watches. And there AR coating is off this planet. Sometimes it even seems like theres no crystal on 'em at all. You would learn a lot, and most important, we would learn that too.

Interesting pieces. That Daytona 🔥 The Hublot “issue” is that take a very basic movement that’s many lower price watches use and then slightly dress it up and charge an insane amount for it. At least with a Rolex and many other brands that are in house like Tudor is now, you get a brand made movement which isn’t cheap and you can somewhat justify the price. The Hublot brand really needs to start making movements in house on there more accessible models, it’s that simple

I agree. Ive owned Rolex, IWC, Blancpain as well as steeldive, heimdallr, Helm. Not a huge amount of wearing pleasure ever seen them to justify the price gap really. Nut in the end, you buy and enjoy what you like and want at your leisure. It's entirely up to the you individual. But don't be fooled that a logo will fulfill your life. The novelty wears off eventually.

It would be interesting to find out what percentage of watch owners use the complications their watches come with. In my case, I prefer a simple look that tells time, and maybe the date. I do use the date feature because I work different schedules and times, so sometimes I can't remember the date. Don't need the month because most of the time, I can remember what month I'm in. I can see Time Zone features being used by business people.

3:46 Just to point out the modern Santos doesn't actually have a sapphire, the modern ones have a synthetic spinel in the crown, NOT a genuine sapphire. They used to put sapphires in there back in the day but now it's syntetic just like the rubies used in watches these days are also synthetic jewels. Hublot DON'T MAKE GOOD WATCHES, DON'T ignore the people that say that. Breitling are far better than Hublot and cheaper, Tudor are better than Hublot. Hublot make overpriced fashion watches and literally copy every other company that's better than them and steal their designs.

Much less flashy than its two solid rose gold siblings - the OG 5980/1R and the new 5990/1R.
