What if an artist pay a producer upfront to do a beat for a song is the producer still suppose to get a percentage of the publishing

@@ReubenWalton well you don’t have to sign up through Songtrust directly if using CDBaby Pro but I like checks and balances. So I would separate my interest even if I used CDBaby Pro. From my overstanding More percentages would be taken out through using Songtrust through CDBaby Pro (hidden fees). Also what happens when you choice to leave CDBaby Pro? I’ll tell you... Unnecessary Complications

A Producer who doesn't write music or lyrics is NOT a songwriter. Being a Producer doesn't automatically make you a songwriter. A Producer can be an organizer, much like the Producer of a movie. That doesn't automatically make them a Screenwriter. Obviously, it's determined by what you mean by Producer. A songwriter is a songwriter. Why confuse the issue?
