I believe most diseases are rooted in long-term stress, but something like alcohol can definitely contribute and exacerbate it. Any time "experts" or "doctors" say they aren't sure why something develops, it's usually lifestyle / stress related and doctors unfortunately don't study that enough. They just focus on medicine. For example, most women I know with thyroid problems admit to having anxiety issues. We need to stop chalking these diseases up to happen-stance. Stress kills!

Wendy lived her life OUT loud. She wouldn’t keep this a secret from us. This series exposed the horrible guardian, publicist, and managers. It was desperate on the part of her family, but done in love. The producers are not the villains in this story and anyone who watched it and thought otherwise needs their own cognitive functions analyzed. The producers did an excellent job of telling her story. Folks are uncomfortable with the truth and that’s their issue. Hopefully this docuseries gets Wendy out of the hands of the guardian and with her family. Brittany was locked down for 13 years before the jig was up, why would we want the same for Wendy? And like the producers said, there is so much they didn’t show to protect her. This was Wendy’s project and while it doesn’t show her “come back,” it showed her humanity, which is what has endeared her to fans for the last 20+ years.

Way before the divorce, lock down or her mother passing you could see she was seriously struggling with memory loss... I noticed at least 5 years ago that she was forgetting people names, being corrected and then still continuing to refer to said person incorrectly for the remainder of the show. Supposedly she wasnt heavily drinking at this point, so I'm not sure it's alcohol induced, although, I'm sure drug taking and drinking in earlier years wouldn't have helped.

She didn’t say it’s definitively NOT alcohol. She just said that no studies have ever definitively linked alcohol to causing FTD. Until doctors see studies and scientific evidence that alcohol directly causes FTD, they can’t just say “oh it was probably alcohol” with no hard evidence. Maybe it was alcohol, maybe it was genetics, maybe it was stress, no one can 100% say for sure. If studies come out in the future showing evidence linking alcohol to FTD, then doctors can speculate that this is a cause for her.

Alcohol-induced dementia is called Korsakoff Syndrome & is caused by Vitamin B1 deficiency & thus often reversible. FTD is 100% progressive/fatal and has different symptoms. She's been definitively diagnosed with FTD since the documentary was made & her son made that comment. There are over 100 subtypes of dementia, each with their own unique symptoms. Drinking certainly is toxic for brain health but it doesn't cause FTD.

It’s so ironic that one of the EPs said that “some days were great, she was very lucid, other days you could see she was struggling, but she was very involved.” She also dodges the question of whether Wendy had a final say in the docuseries by saying they don’t know if she’s seen the film. The answer is no. If she struggled on other days, she was not involved or was in good health to be involved with full potential or with a clear mind. It is sickening to say the least. 5:13

I believe the producers could have shown a great deal more but did not due to their empathy and integrity. Some of you may disagree but believe me if you dealth with people with dementia it can get real challenging to say the least. The Producers were very respectful as best as they could be exposing the truth of her illness and how broken guardianship can be. If I'm honest, it was clear of Shawn and Willie's position but I'm also got my eyes open for the family to a certain extent. However, to be fair, there is a perood of denial on the family's part. One thing for sure, its all out in the open niw and I pray families across the globe see the early signs of dementia and put things in place while their love one is in their right state of mind. This is Wendy final gift to the world. She will forever go down as a legend!, a pioneer a shero that disrupted the system. Now wake up and help your love one.

I've healed it and as far as I know, I'm the only one who has the solution to fix it 100%. The reason these dumb experts cannot heal it is because they are just idiots and cannot even identify it properly. That's because they have no experience. Even if you have personal experience, you will fail because the solution requires a method that is unorthodox. I came across it on accident while high on drugs. None of these textbook experts with their fancy degrees will ever figure it out. Lol It's because they are too logical. Your mind must be flexible to find the answer. That's how I'm the only one who found it

I’m so glad they did to the documentary , I’m glad they never knew about her dementia because we would’ve never known that Wendy cannot access her own hard -earned cash, cash she wants to leave for HER SON!!!! It’s awful I can’t stand that Law they have over there in America ( withholding a persons cash-flow!!!!!!) shocking!!!!! ❤

I loved how the “new anchor” was asking them the questions. In a way putting them in their place, but respectfully! They exploited Wendy Williams! And to say she was well aware, of what was being filmed. “From the footage I’ve seen.” I can see it in her eyes. “She was not always all there.” You can tell she didn’t always fully understand, what was going on. I worked in a senior living facility not to long ago…“In assisted living” where all their healthcare needs needed to be met constantly. And I got to meet a lot of seniors with Alzheimer’s in many different stages. And just watching the clips “of parts of the documentary”, it was so heart breaking. This is very sad, and I wish someone could have stopped this documentary period. You learn to love these seniors working in that field, and that part of me that would protect them. Wished I could somehow be able to protect her. I’m just so sorry Wendy! You didn’t deserve this. I don’t care what you did for a living. No one deserves to be exploited like this in such a vulnerable state. 😢

Great questions were asked that needed to be raised because how did this documentary get green lighted without Wendy’s approval. They keep pushing the narrative that this documentary was to expose the wrongdoings of a professional guardianship being in place, but what does it have to say about her management team or family’s support? They still had access to her. They could’ve been more active in her life if they “noticed” something was wrong. The guardianship wasn’t preventing them from having contact with her. It’s like they weren’t putting in the effort to protect their family member. They need to stop pushing the guardianship narrative.

I personally have not watched to docuseries but reading the comments had me remembering something from the past about her guardianship. Didn't Wendy object, at one time, to the guardianship when the courts allowed Wells Fargo to seize her assets or something to that regard? At that time she did not seem to be as bad as what I have been seeing in small clips of the docuseries.

Did they pay for her family's attorney? If the legal guardian sued to stop this project, they must know something the family is hiding. She had financially cut her son off. Why didn't the producers request a certified letter from the physician who performed the assessment attesting to the family's claim of her diagnosis? The producers didn't, because they're not interested in her well being, but rather ratings. IF they weren't there, they wouldn't have made millions and have the rights to utilize the footage obtained. The producers basically confirmed she didn't sign off on their releasing this information. SHAME ON THEM AND ANYONE WHO WATCHED THIS DOCUSERIES.

I am stunned that anyone representing her best interests would think this was ok to air her losing her faculties. Help the helpless, that's our job as caregivers. It's heartwrenching to see such an intelligent, hard working woman become helpless. Her best friend said she had to send food to Wendy because no one was feeding her. Just stunning to see the lack of understanding of early onset dementia in a patient. Her son should have a medical team as advisors and her son should be given her care proxy. She stated her wishes on film repeatedly she wanted her wealth to go to her only child. A word of caution to everyone... Have a will, a plan for your wealth succession and have your medical team guide you on health directive forms NOW while you are healthy. ❤

Personally I think the documentary was healing in so many ways because it’s rare to receive that level of truth in anything. Although there’s still a lot that’s probably being hidden as well. The legal guardian is still looking suspicious to me. I heard she is getting sued by another client as we speak (30 million). Someone should do an exposé on her!

The documentary doesn't even include the family at the beginning. Wendy states that she is under the impression that the filming is part of her comeback to coincide with her podcast. The doc as edited does push an agenda to side with the family, yet fails. The family treats wendy and her money like a kidnapped inheritance. Wendy's son takes no responsibility for causing the guardianship. And most importantly, guardianship is court appointed when a vulnerable person is incapable of mentally making competent decisions financially, health wise, and a need for assistance is present. Wendy didn't get dementia in the final months of filming. Everyone knows that. However, the doc ends with the family saying she's back to normal as though the dementia and aphasia just went away. It's all very calculating and manipulative and Wendy is being treated like a property dispute.

The dementia associated with alcoholism is "Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome". Some people have Wernicke's without Korsakoff, but many people have both. Kevin Jr. was probably told her doctor's suspected Wernicke's which would make sense considering her SUD history.
