I believe most diseases are rooted in long-term stress, but something like alcohol can definitely contribute and exacerbate it. Any time "experts" or "doctors" say they aren't sure why something develops, it's usually lifestyle / stress related and doctors unfortunately don't study that enough. They just focus on medicine. For example, most women I know with thyroid problems admit to having anxiety issues. We need to stop chalking these diseases up to happen-stance. Stress kills!

Wendy lived her life OUT loud. She wouldn’t keep this a secret from us. This series exposed the horrible guardian, publicist, and managers. It was desperate on the part of her family, but done in love. The producers are not the villains in this story and anyone who watched it and thought otherwise needs their own cognitive functions analyzed. The producers did an excellent job of telling her story. Folks are uncomfortable with the truth and that’s their issue. Hopefully this docuseries gets Wendy out of the hands of the guardian and with her family. Brittany was locked down for 13 years before the jig was up, why would we want the same for Wendy? And like the producers said, there is so much they didn’t show to protect her. This was Wendy’s project and while it doesn’t show her “come back,” it showed her humanity, which is what has endeared her to fans for the last 20+ years.

She didn’t say it’s definitively NOT alcohol. She just said that no studies have ever definitively linked alcohol to causing FTD. Until doctors see studies and scientific evidence that alcohol directly causes FTD, they can’t just say “oh it was probably alcohol” with no hard evidence. Maybe it was alcohol, maybe it was genetics, maybe it was stress, no one can 100% say for sure. If studies come out in the future showing evidence linking alcohol to FTD, then doctors can speculate that this is a cause for her.

The documentary doesn't even include the family at the beginning. Wendy states that she is under the impression that the filming is part of her comeback to coincide with her podcast. The doc as edited does push an agenda to side with the family, yet fails. The family treats wendy and her money like a kidnapped inheritance. Wendy's son takes no responsibility for causing the guardianship. And most importantly, guardianship is court appointed when a vulnerable person is incapable of mentally making competent decisions financially, health wise, and a need for assistance is present. Wendy didn't get dementia in the final months of filming. Everyone knows that. However, the doc ends with the family saying she's back to normal as though the dementia and aphasia just went away. It's all very calculating and manipulative and Wendy is being treated like a property dispute.

Wendy also requires a high level of quality health care in a qualified Memory Care or Nursing Care Facility to provide the best possible treatment for her dementia and substance dependence issues. Her son Kevin Jr. is too young and impressionable to manage such responsibilities. Remember….her son spent $120K on his birthday party, $80K on rent, and $100K on Uber Eats, all within a few weeks! He was also at the bank Wells Fargo, along with his dad’s (Kevin Sr.) lawyer, trying to withdraw millions of dollars of Wendy’s money! This is the action that kicked off the Guardianship process! Lifetime should be a shame of themselves for airing a documentary on a person that was clearly at their lowest point. I'm done with this low budget channel. No matter what they said airing this documentary was a money grab for you definitely exploitation.

I loved how the “new anchor” was asking them the questions. In a way putting them in their place, but respectfully! They exploited Wendy Williams! And to say she was well aware, of what was being filmed. “From the footage I’ve seen.” I can see it in her eyes. “She was not always all there.” You can tell she didn’t always fully understand, what was going on. I worked in a senior living facility not to long ago…“In assisted living” where all their healthcare needs needed to be met constantly. And I got to meet a lot of seniors with Alzheimer’s in many different stages. And just watching the clips “of parts of the documentary”, it was so heart breaking. This is very sad, and I wish someone could have stopped this documentary period. You learn to love these seniors working in that field, and that part of me that would protect them. Wished I could somehow be able to protect her. I’m just so sorry Wendy! You didn’t deserve this. I don’t care what you did for a living. No one deserves to be exploited like this in such a vulnerable state. 😢

I’m so glad they did to the documentary , I’m glad they never knew about her dementia because we would’ve never known that Wendy cannot access her own hard -earned cash, cash she wants to leave for HER SON!!!! It’s awful I can’t stand that Law they have over there in America ( withholding a persons cash-flow!!!!!!) shocking!!!!! ❤

I like the questions that she asks..

Great questions were asked that needed to be raised because how did this documentary get green lighted without Wendy’s approval. They keep pushing the narrative that this documentary was to expose the wrongdoings of a professional guardianship being in place, but what does it have to say about her management team or family’s support? They still had access to her. They could’ve been more active in her life if they “noticed” something was wrong. The guardianship wasn’t preventing them from having contact with her. It’s like they weren’t putting in the effort to protect their family member. They need to stop pushing the guardianship narrative.

It wasn’t a decision for anyone to make but Wendy’s. If she couldn’t consent, if shouldn’t have happened.

Did they pay for her family's attorney? If the legal guardian sued to stop this project, they must know something the family is hiding. She had financially cut her son off. Why didn't the producers request a certified letter from the physician who performed the assessment attesting to the family's claim of her diagnosis? The producers didn't, because they're not interested in her well being, but rather ratings. IF they weren't there, they wouldn't have made millions and have the rights to utilize the footage obtained. The producers basically confirmed she didn't sign off on their releasing this information. SHAME ON THEM AND ANYONE WHO WATCHED THIS DOCUSERIES.

I personally have not watched to docuseries but reading the comments had me remembering something from the past about her guardianship. Didn't Wendy object, at one time, to the guardianship when the courts allowed Wells Fargo to seize her assets or something to that regard? At that time she did not seem to be as bad as what I have been seeing in small clips of the docuseries.

These producers are liars. They saw an opportunity to make big money and went for it. They don't care about her. If they did, they would have stopped the production.

These two producers disgust me…. Their answers seems like excuses to justify their exploitation of wendy…. Before watching this short interview, i assumed that wendy had full control of her own narrative, but she clearly has no final say. Please understand carefully what these two are trying to hide and all lies…. Disgusting.

These people are greedy. That's why they didn't scrap it after the found out the diagnosis. And now they're trying to go on a parade and defend their actions. Let's see them put their sick loved ones on tv and exploit them and see how they feel about getting the story out. Disgusting.
