💡🚨 You are right in your observation about caring more about looks than talent in most places' music industry. I'd like to add that in Asia (South Korea and Thailand are very big on plastic surgery) it is becoming a norm now. It's good that here in the Philippines although for the most part people do care about the looks too but it's always talent first then looks second.

Filipinos pick up music that are nice to their ears. That's it. lol I remember how in the 90s we liked that song where the male vocalist just hummed the entire time but we liked it because of his voice in hum quality. lol. You will be surprised to know that many also like old country because of the guitar skills and the rhythm. We are emotional and romantic so we like ballads but even if they are of other genre but when the lyrics resonates, we get hooked. We recognize and appreciate skills but what would make a hit is good message and rhythm. Doesn't matter whether the song is complicated or simple. I love me some blues but doesn't stop me from appreciating other genres. We love bone thugs and juan thugs for the rhythm. Many can rap but this singing rap style is nice to the ears - just make the flow sound more interesting. EZ Mil I'm guessing is bored to hear same flow all through the entire song that is why he has so many flows.

Actually the WISHBUS lets artist do a second take and overlay it with the first take. The reason for this are multiple. Either outside noise got too much. The artist wanted a second take to cover all the deficiencies like voice cracking, out of breath etc. The LIVE feed is not being clearly broadcasted. Or a simple technical issue

Manila Sound really is an ode to American Music. It could be hip hop, rap, rock, jazz, fusion, groove, funk, and disco. The essence of Manila Sound is the lyrics must be in Tagalog or Mixed Taglish. Tagalog and Rap really have a good synergy. A lot consonants and it can go hard and thick with big beats or you can tame it down like this video.

Our rappers usually looked like they just came from the streets, from just any corner in any streets in the Ph. 😁 It took a while for them to take off though but the masses resonated with them, bec, as you pointed out, it's not the looks but the bars you spit out.
