"Yo," Drake said to Boi-1da, after hearing an early version of "Mob Ties" for the first time. "Make sure you put this one on lock for me." Working late within the Scorpion sessions, Boi-1da crafted "Mob Ties" with collaborators Allen Ritter and Ashley Turner. What began as a half-time slow burn of an R&B track eventually transformed into the trap anthem we know today, with a little help from Omnisphere and Splice Sounds. "Mob Ties" is one of many of Drake and Boi-1da's collaborations, with a partnership spanning as far back as 2009's "Best I Ever Had" all the way to 2018's "God's Plan."
Watch Boi-1da tell us about meeting a young Aubrey Graham aka Drake (still riding a wheelchair down Degrassi High), how their collaborations come to life, and being nominated for six Grammy awards this year, including his win for "God's Plan."

Grew up around the corner from 1da, watched him make beats in his basement back when we were kids. Hes always been humble. He stayed home to watch his little brother & made beats, that was his life. He worked countless hours to get where he is. I remember telling him he would make it many times & look at him now. The goat. I ran into him at the bank years ago after not afraid dropped & he was the same guy. Even offered me a beat, knowing I could never afford it. I wouldnt be suprised to see him respond, even on here. Respect to 1da

"This is not competition, ... it's art... people are gonna love your art, people are gonna hate your art, but it's art at the end of the day and if you love it, treat it like you love it and put yourself out there" 100% FACTS and I agree! Make what YOU enjoy making and let everything else fall into place! While there will be some haters, there will also be fans of your work as well. No one out there makes music that 100% of the people in the world love and enjoy... the beauty of art! Blessings!

I personally don't like this mentality, these quotes are like religion. I've did it before on Instagram, it gives you tons of views and likes if you post these kind of quotes, but this is bullshit, and I appreciate more if someone does work and stay quiet insted of saying 'big words' like this. Tbh its a waste of time and fun fact, everyone can say words like this so this is not a big thing. To be clear, no disrespect for this guy, my comment is for you, though I never heard this producer before. In my very personal opinion wich is of course doesn't matter for anyone, this is kinda sad as well that splice KZbin channel is full of, well, not really noname but rather than never-heard-of-who-are-they-all-the-same producers. At least for me beat making is not a very big deal, at least at this level where these guys are. Yes, I admit that these producers I'm talking about are technically and musically much better than me, I totally agree with it, my problem is that Splice almost has the same video contents with beat producers, same patterns, same VST same preset and they trying to explain that like this would be rocket science. The bigger problem here is when listeners watching this and they think "MAKING MUSIC IS THAT EASY" and it will has a mark on other electronic genres as well.

Dude even seems like a person that is lying. He could've made the beat, but if he did it, he knows that Vory was the one that wrote the lyrics and jumped on it first.
