I love that idea but couldn’t it be a safety risk? The bottles are made in a dust-free lab because people consume the contents within them. A whole matter of germs could living on a bottle someone has used for a month and sent back in. Just a thought, though I’m sure there could be a way around this.

Hi Tati, the balm cleansers that you mentioned need to be wash with another light cleanser. It's need to go with double cleansing (Korean Method). The reason why the film is still on your face because it still has the ingredients that are meant to make sure all the gunk and impurities are taken away. Then I Met You balm is supposed to be used with their facial cleanser. It comes as a set. They are both not made with harsh ingredients so it can be used with 2 steps

Hi i know it’s a few years later but I’m here to voice my opinion. Personally I didn’t like the Then I Met You Balm either and I didn’t get it from Tati I used to be a fig Skincare By Hyram fan and he recommended it and I did try it over my usual Clinique one and I had a very similar experience to Tati. It just didn’t get my makeup off as well as my Clinique balm and I couldn’t get over the film it left on the skin I did wash my face with a regular cleanser after like the 2 step technique which Tati has also mentioned before that she does as well. Just overall it wasn’t worth it it’s not really cheaper and the experience is not as pleasant it left me feeling weird I get that it has better ingredients but I’d rather have good ingredients be in serums or creams I’ll leave on rather than on a cleanser I’ll have on my face for 30 seconds and wash off

Try looking for products that use zinc oxide or titanium oxide as their SPF ingredients 😊 those are usually a bit more gentle on sensitive skin. I have the same problem where I will have a reaction to normal sunscreens (especially ones that contain ingredients such as oxybenzone and octinoxate), but I’m fine with the zinc and titanium.

Hey so, as an undergraduate student in cell biology, I have to call you out on the false information at 17:00 about the anti fungal properties of the clear activating mist by osmosis. Anti fungals do not have an effect on bacterial breakouts. Fungi are similar to our own cells as they are eukaryotic, whereas bacteria are prokaryotic. There are distinct differences between the two and this prevents anti fungals from preventing bacterial breakouts and vice versa. Sorry if I sound harsh but as a society we need to stop spreading false news because that's what causes dangerous acts such as the anti vaccination movement. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. What do you think about the paraben-free trend? I’m not in the science field but I’d rather have the trade off of having a clean product rather than be paraben free. If it’s in a jar,it needs parabens. If it’s in a pump, maybe not as essential?

Taryn I actually read quite a few papers regarding this in college (you have access to thousands and thousands of scientific, peer reviewed journals through your schools library website usually, if you can’t access one then email the authors. Chances are they’ll happily send you a copy and save you the insane fee that they get no cut of). From what I understood (I’m not an expert, a bachelor’s degree gives you slightly more education and understanding on a subject than the average science enthusiast), the results are inconclusive. I have no breast cancer history in my family so I don’t pay much attention to them. I also have not had any hormone issues. If I had a strong risk of breast cancer or if I had hyperthyroidism, fertility struggles, etc. I would probably cut them out because better safe than sorry right? If a product has parabens and cutting it out would cause a big change to your life then I wouldn’t. I’m very sensitive to SPF, I get awful acne from most I’ve tried. I found on that doesn’t make me break out or cause a rash and it has parabens. I’d rather protect myself against the harmful UV rays guaranteed to cause cancer instead of avoiding it because something has very little evidence of potentially maybe causing breast cancer later on.

Yeeesss! I’m a chem major, and all the talk about chemicals are making me insane as well. Even water is a chemical. I get what people mean, most of the time, but still. There are a ton of natural products that are not good for you at all, and there are synthetically made products that are fantastic for you, and vice versa. Just because something is natural, does not mean it’s automatically better than the synthesized product 😆

I reckon it depends on the balm. Clinique’s Take The Day Off and The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleanser in the tin are great 1st cleanses but the Elemis one Tati had and Emma Hardie’s balm have such lovely ingredients they’d be wasteful as a 1st cleanse. Those have ingredients you want on your skin a while longer and a for a bit of a longer face massage. They’ll all leave a film if you only rinse off so a hot cloth removal is usually advised.

Beautiful Soul im sure anywhere u can find something! 💜💜💜 i had a lilac shadow in my ipsy and gave it away but i still have lilacs and purples and lilac colourpop eyeliner, purple lippies (for rare occasions lolol) and dark purple idk if colorpop has the lavender still but i got the pencil not the pot id check them and they have lots of pigments and more eyeshadows now! If anything id say colourpop 😏

Fyi hydrating isnt the same thing as moisturizing❤ hydrating is adding h2o into the skin. Moisturizing is adding oil. :))) im licensed in esthetics.
