I've ran the JP Enterprises Silent Captured Spring Recoil System (Gen. 2) since 2016 on my direct impingement BCM Recce 16" KMR Fluted Enhanced Lightweight AR-15. I absolutely love it. 5 of 5 stars. Perfect upgrade, the SCS is superb, no marketing hype because I'm not a legit sponsor. No regrets whatsoever! Pure awesome.

do the weights have a moving part? because the standard AR15 buffers have an internal reciprocating weight to aid in reducing bold bounce by producing a "dead blow" effect. If these are just solid metal weights they can't provide a dead blow effect.
@JPRifles
@JPRifles 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the weights do have some room for travel on the slide and are interspaced by rubber o-rings. So, the deadblow effect is significant, especially with tungsten weights.

If you are currently running a standard 5.2oz rifle length buffer and you are satisfied with how the rifle runs both suppressed and unsuppressed, you may want to opt for a JPSCS2-15H3 which will need to be ordered over the phone through JP. The alternate option to achieve H3 mass is to purchase a JPSCS2-15H2 and also an additional JPSCS2-HM-2 tungsten buffer mass to swap onto it. The best result would come from having an adjustable gas block in combination with the H2 or H3 Silent Captured Spring System. This would give you the greatest ability to tune the rifle correctly to go back-and-forth between suppressed and unsuppressed use. You can also check the Silent Captured Spring System Selection Guide: jprifles.com/document_pdfs/SCS%20Selection%20Guide_794.pdf

Our SCS is the original AR captured buffer, which we've been incrementally refining for almost a decade now. We know there are some alternatives out there, but they're in the low-end knock-off category. The build quality and customizable support just aren't there.

I just got an H2 for brand new PWS 300 BO 9 inch and not working, I need to tune as it is mostly single shots with failure to feed and sometimes failure to eject. I tried multiple ammo both 120gr and 200gr. I also tried MFT, Pmags and metal mags. I haven't played with adjustable gas block but it is open. This upper works fine with 2 other lowers (spikes with an H2 and LWRC with H1). With my last 300BO it was the same until i changed to an H2 buffer. Suggestions? Or should I call?

Not too familiar with their triggers, but looks like it requires an H3 buffer. In that case, I'd recommend our JPSCS2-15H2. That's the equivalent of an H2 buffer. See if that works, and if not, you can swap out one of the steel weights for another tungsten and get to the H3 equivalent.

@williamstiefel3908
@williamstiefel3908 4 жыл бұрын
Raymond Anthony I’d say adjustable GB but that’s just me. The different buffer weights and spring sizes might be a cheaper way to go. Adjustable gas blocks is the route I went with all of my ARs and it has worked for me using a long hex wrench. Instead of trying a bunch of different buffers and springs to find what works best for my rifles. And plus I don’t have a bunch of extra useless/unneeded buffers and springs laying around when I was finished due to not experimenting with them.

Everyone keeps talking about this "cheese grater sound" and it makes me wonder what kind of cheese are you grating? A normal block of cheddar cheese hardly makes a sound when grated. Also, if you're so worried about sound then maybe you shouldn't be shooting something that makes a 160-ish db bang and switch to airsoft. Lastly, does this benefit my rifle? If so, where's the data? For the $180 You want me to spend I'd rather buy a Mantis X10 so I can data-log my shooting and fine tune my technique.
@LSMG2004
@LSMG2004 5 жыл бұрын
Benefits include: not hearing the sound equal to a spoon scraping over a cheese grater; less feeling of "wiggle" on the back end of your shots; you don't have to clean your gun mat after a 12 inch lubed spring wiggles all over it; you can tell your friends that your silent capture spring keeps you from hearing "the cheese grater sound" (they'll know what you mean); you can tell your mom that the basement won't be as noisy as it was before this little invention.

Never buy junk like this, want a good buffer spring that will never fail? Spring co springs. Giesseles braided spring seems to be solid. I have shot hundreds of thousands of rounds in my life, some have been on cheap ass old used military rifles till we started getting more Gucci shit in the better teams and just never has the thought come to me “man this buffer spring sounds janky” but you know what thought has come? I need a buffer spring that never shortens and dies that has a long like span. Spring co buffer springs literally never die. Even if you are elite military operators you won’t be able to put enough rounds on a rifle to shoot out a spring co. And those guys make a ton of slightly different strength springs so you can really get your rifle running smooth and get a good 430 ejecting and cadence of fire. Life span durability and reliability are king in the firearms world

Carbine vs Mid length you would more than likely run a JPSCS2-15. The SCS is so adjustable that you can adapt it to almost any platform that runs a standard buffer system. Please send us an email at social@jprifles.com and we can get you more details

Thank you guys for making this video. I have purchased one of these for my CMP Service Rifle build, and I plan to use mass and springs to tune it to operate reliably with a low mass carrier. Instructional videos like this are priceless for this kind of new tech. I am getting into CMP Service Rifle because of a recent diagnosis of what amounts to fairly crippling osteoarthritis, and of all places, it's at its worst in my shooting shoulder. So basically I had to switch to shooting ARs because of the already light recoil of the 5.56, (used to be a big bore guy; may have something to do with the shoulder problem, lol) but even in that platform I need to reduce the recoil impulse as much as I possibly can. Since internal modifications are allowed within the rules, but adjustable gas blocks are not, this recoil system is going to be my new best friend, and I plan to learn to tune it to within an inch of its life.

"Everything on your firearm is a wear component". Bro... You guys are selling an EXPENSIVE wear component. The concept sounds awesome and the Maxim stock combo seems even better. But that's a price tag of $500 after taxes. It's. A. Stock. And. Buffer. No reason it should cost THAT much. The whole set up looks great though. I'd like to see a comparison between this buffer & spring vs a Geiselle Super 42, personally. That's what I'm running in one of my rifles and it IMMEDIATELY made a difference.

Throwing another wrinkle into this. If you shoot ammo of different velocity, it also throws off the BCG speed, recoil, gas, all of it. This is reinventing the wheel. Just go shoot.

How does this compare to just lightly greasing the spring? I lightly greased the sides of my spring and it got a lot more smooth and quite. I do completely clean my gun almost eveytime I shoot it, but even after a few days and a few hundred dirty steel case rounds, I have not noticed the grease holding grime. Strongly considering one of these captive springs, but If the grease gets close, I may just save the money

So basically if you have a fine adjustment gas block like a superlative arms GB you don't really need to do a lot of weight/spring swapping (5.56 rifle)

Buck El Rodeo between the adjustable GB, and weighted buffers and springs, you can fine tune the weapon to the ammo/suppressor you’re using. If you have the time, ammo, and money to do it... I have a job though, so I don’t have that kinda time to play at the range myself...

Wow, these two guys are scaring some people away from this terrific up grade. If anyone out there has a regular colt m-4 or almost any regular AR-15, you don't need to go through all this running to get the benefit, unless that's what you want to do. I put the captured spring in my Colt M-4, did nothing else, and it ran fine. Like these guys are saying, once you shoot without that TWANG!!! of that loose spring in the stock, right next to your ear, with your plastic hearing protection driving that sound into your head, you lose that and it's quiet and solid feeling, it's like shooting a brand new gun. It's the best upgrade you can do for the money, maybe the trigger is right there too, if you get the JP trigger. I won't own an AR without a captured spring in it, no way. BTW, JP is the man, I just love every detail he thinks of, more so than any other brand of upgrades, some day I want a whole rifle that is his design. That will be my dream gun.
