I've purchased this and I've run a couple of one shots with my family and friends, I've got some young kids (all over 8 yrs) and they struggle to keep up with prolonged campaigns, they tend to prefer one shots and my brain was starting to struggle having made loads up over the past couple of years! This totally fits what I needed. It really is nicely put together and feels like exceptional quality printing and binding and the artwork is great. I love how the book has ways to draw the one shots together within a wider kingdom if that's the way you want to take things. It's particularly helpful that when you purchase it, you get an instant PDF of the whole book and then the hard copy comes a few days later. The PDF is actually more helpful when running the one shot (as you can refer back to it on a tablet) but the book is way nicer for sitting in your armchair perusing what adventure you are going to pick for the next outing. One of the best D&D books I've owned just because it's just so flexible, brilliant work by role and play press. I need to save up my pennies for that map pack! And thanks Adam for the helpful video which helped me to make the purchase!

I always like these types of books, most take the 5e DMG to the next level and typically better explanations

People need to know that this book do not contains 100 two-pages one shots as costumers are lead to believe, but only 56. (Which is still worth the price, though) The rest of the quests are way shorter: 25 are only one page, and 42 of them are only paragraphs (!), with 3 one shots per page. You can kind of see this in the video, but it is never pointed out. I thought these paragraphs were just additional info to other quests, not one shots themselves. An example: "Race to the top. The party enters an interprid race to the top of the mountain in record time. The party is up against other adventurers who are all competing to be the first to reach the summit and set off a flare. The winning team will recievie a huge cash reward" This is not a one shot, imo. This is rather GPTs idea of a session, and for me as a DM these 14 pages with 3 ideas per page is useless.

I still think this is a fantastic resource for RPG sessions and a lot of the groups at my shop now use this. I have had nothing but positive feedback from customers who have bought this book for use in their own campaigns at home. I will say that the book does say 'over 100 session ideas for fantasy rpgs' and does not allude to them all being 2-page one shots. But thank you for your comment, I hope you found the video to be of some worth to you 😊

@@boardathomegaming It absolutely is a fantastic resource, but the 14 tiny one shots reeks too much of GPT spewing out sub-par ideas. Authors have been lazy here. When I bought the book, maps, PDFs + shpping it added up to over 100$, and to find out that only 56 out of 100 were two-paged one shots was very dissapointing. I feel tricked.

Hey, thanks for picking up a copy of the book, and I’m glad to hear you think it’s great value! Happy to clarify the numbers. There are 126 sessions in the book, 81 of these are on either 1 or 2 pages (the majority of those being on 2). Some stories only needed a single page, for example they may take place across fewer locations, have fewer NPCs involved, or more of the session time is focused on combat. They also don’t have an illustration, which takes up some of the space on the 2-page sessions. For the sessions that are on 1/3 of a page, these all come with a plot summary (like the part you shared), plus a location, key character and story expansion points. These are great for GMs who are looking for the key elements of a session, but prefer a more sandbox experience. We aim to make resources that suit a range of GM styles. No GPT over here, all human-made by us - three writers over a year-long period. We'd love to hear which one-shots you try out from the book and how your party finds them :)
