How can I provide customers with the option to order a sample of an item? For example, if I'm selling tiles, I want to allow customers to place a paid order for samples in their chosen colors.

Thanks for putting this video together. It’s been a big help along with your other videos for me as I’m building my online store. I was wondering if it’s possible to default or change the shipping option for a product based on the type of product it is? An example would be if someone purchased a bee hive that needs to be picked up locally and not shipped then the only option showing for Shipping at checkout would be “Local Pick up”. Is this something that can be managed through the back end of BigCommerce’s app? Thanks.

hi James. You can do this but you'll need an app. ShipperHQ is the gold standard and they can do this and more. Also Advanced Shipping Manager can handle it.

I believe printify has an option to push them into your store after you create them. It's been a while since I used it though.

Hello, Great videos! Question. We are a Direct to Consumer Beef Producer. Do you have any videos on how to set-up product based on weight/price per lbs. An example: We have 12 T-Bone Steaks. They cost $12.00 per pound. We provide the weight of each steak. How do we configure BigCommerce to calculate the price based on weight(lb.) times the cost per lb.? Thank You, Matt

hey Matt, there's a really nice 'shipping by weight' feature that is native and really my preferred method of calculating shipping. Your bc reps should be able to help you with it.

I use the API regularly but leave the bigquery stuff to the data scientists. that's a whole field.

Hey bro thank you for the video. Do you know how it would be possible to use existing product as variants of a new one? When I try to add the existing product's SKU for the variant SKU, it doesn't allow me to do it as it says the SKU must be unique. Thank you.

Hi Damian, You'd want to use an external inventory app that creates 'bundle skus' to handle it externally OR take a look at 'add to cart' urls in the BC docs. You can use a simple URL in a link to add one or even multiple items to cart at once and this may solve your need though its a slightly different way than you're thinking.

Is there any advantage of using BC product filter compared to the one by Fresh click?

Yes. the native one is part of initial page load instead of being brought in with a javascript. So performance-wise, native is better. Functionality-wise, freshclick is better.
