Solid tutorial Lee , good resource for people that want to get the ball rolling in the genre of product photography. Round and reflective, if you can knock that one out, it just get's easier. Unless it's round and metallic. Enjoyed the watch and thank you.

Some people watch game shows and video games, I like watching tutorials for entertainment. Great one, love it.

Great tutorial, thank you. I often work with Blender and it reminds me a lot the 3D workflow by the individual lights tweaking.

16:09 - Just use *Generative Fill* to fix it instantly. 18:57 - Enable *Window > Contextual Task Bar.* Then use *"Select Subject".* Let A.I. select the product in 1sec. 20:24 - Nah, no need for *Cmd + X* and then *Cmd + V.* Just make your selection and press *Cmd + Shift + J.* Bam.

The result is great, however I wonder if so much work is worth it for some e-commerce. A proper exposed shot with some in post gradients wouldn't be just fine? You said yourself that you brighten the sauce color because it's gonna be on a small square. Real question though, I know that the quality of real light work is required for larger scales. Anyway, great tips for the ones owning only one light. Good that you mentioned Profoto isn't required. I'm tired of hearing that pros need it. Mainly, if a photographer owns only one light and it's a Profoto, his choice need to be questioned 😅

@Lee Good Tutorial. Its solid for people who what to get into the game or just have in their skillset. My reco is to do everything the same way next time, but use a extra small softbox and not the hard source of the flash head. nearly the same results, and easier to produce. The round reflections and shadows not flattering. Keep up the great work.

Great tutorial. Just a tip: use Command+Shift+V to paste in place!

Command+J will also make a copy of the layer. If selections are made prior, it'll make a new layer out of the selections.

I wonder about time efficiency. Karl Taylor does most in camera which means more light and modifiers. Time spent before is not used in editing. But net time between the techniques? I see a competition. Time competition and capital expense competition.

Paste in place brother. It’s an option in photoshop.

Side by side looks bad ngl, highlights on both sides while having a box to the left that should in theory block the highlights on the left? Uncany valley. Also, label is bit on a blurry side. Fire effect looks dope tho.

Lee, no offence but your photoshop editing is so outdated! Why don't you use content aware or generative fill for that edge. Use Select and Mask to finetune you selection (shrinking edges etc), and create a smart object for both the bottle and box so you can rescale them in the final document, so you can always go back to the original resolution + apply effects that are editable (non-destructive).

All credits to you to do these things but (and you know it would come) to spend this amount of time in post for fixing many (not all) things that could have been done in camera is from a business perspective is a very poor decision. I am fighting the urge to moan about the "fix it is post" attitude and I know (being one of them) that coming from a studio photographer and knowing the techniques of editing your light in a shoot saves you so much time compared with doing some of the effects in post.
