Nearly did not buy one based on this video, but my experience totally different. Read the little white sheet inside the packaging, needs to download a companion app and it all worked perfectly on my iPhone 12 and 2013 FL2, took 5 mins max, would highly recommend.

Glad you got there in the end. Mine was much easier to set up. The difference may be be that I didn't have other bluetooth devices interfering, used the automatic setting and just left it connected to my phone to do its thing. I have 3 readers and this one is the best but definitely is not plug and play. It provides by far the most functionality. Actually I can't believe that Autel who make the very expensive, professional readers seem to have handed over all their tech in this little cheap reader. BTW for those that don't know, all freelander 2's have the VIN (very handily) on the bottom right hand side of the windscreen (read from outside the vehicle. You need it for the automatic setting. Thanks for another great video.

Wow - you seemed to have a lot of problems operating the tool plus your car had a lot of fault codes. I have a diesel jeep and due to the low km city driving I do the Diesel particulate filter blocks - so a mechanic friend hooks his OBD up and forces a DPF clean. But I didn't like to keep asking him to do it. So I bought the AP200 so I could do it myself. Took about 10 minutes to set up and worked faultlessly. Ran the dpf burn, cleared the check engine light, full power back - bloody great. Ran the diagnosis tool and apart from a low battery on the fob - no other faults.

I don’t know why my device was such a pain to pair up. Maybe it was a counterfeit item. I will have another go with it soon as I need to program a new key.

Good to see an in depth review! I just ordered one of these for home use after working as a technician where they had the same program on a maxidas 808 unit. Amazing how many things they find! Basically looks the same format. My only question is regarding to how slow it seems is what phone are you using and what sort of memory/storage does it have ? I’m wondering if my phone will be up to the job
@BeavisPits3 жыл бұрын
My phone is an iphone 11 pro. It took *ages* to read the codes, over half an hour! I will do another video on this soon to show more of the features and hopefully things like battery reset and programming a new keyfob.

Yep! Only found that a few weeks later. Interestingly though, I tried following the instructions and it still refused to pair up. I got it working in the end but it was too unreliable. Ended up binning that device and switching to a wired Autel which works very well.

I own one of these, apart from reading and erasing codes and programming new keys they seem pretty useless, especially when you think about how often you actually need to program a key. Can you alter settings like external lights on when you unlock

Hi friend, can you make a test on the suspension calibration if it works
@BeavisPits3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t see any settings for suspension. The FL2 suspension also doesn’t have any sensors or electronic adjustment. Geometry is altered mechanically.

Hi is the autel ap200 still working,,? And are all the functions still working after the years end?
@BeavisPits10 ай бұрын
I only got it working briefly and I had to unpair all other bluetooth devices to get this one to pair up. Then when I actually needed it about a year later, it just refused to pair completely. It was all just too fiddly and frustrating so I bought a wired Autel 517, much better, just plug in and go.

It wasn’t easy to set up and get working. I actually cut out several false endings where I gave up, but then came back to it the next day and tried again. After 3 days of wrestling with the bluetooth and app it started working. Overall, so far, I don’t recommend it. I will continue playing with it though and maybe do another video showing what it can do once I’m got the hang of it.

Julie, what did you do that I didn’t? My issue was getting it to pair on bluetooth.
@juliesapak45592 жыл бұрын
One of the things we did was turn the ignition on straight away, green light came first, followed quickly by the blue light, to say it was paired, was even quicker in our second Freelander that we put it in straight after.
@BeavisPits2 жыл бұрын
Thanks I’ll that that. Instructions said ign off, but I have heard other people say it works better on.

@BeavisPits3 жыл бұрын
Interesting to know, although I don’t have an Android device to try it on. I will do another video on this soon. I think most of the issues I had were due to it saying it was connected but in fact it wasn’t properly paired up. Turning the ignition on first, all other bluetooth devices off, and holding my phone closer seemed to do the trick. Once properly paired, I could view all sorts of data. I’ll show this in part 2 soon.
