Honesty I think for water color in particular this Brush Rinser sounds so handy. Because I always have several cups and a dirt water bucket & fresh water can on one table … and this looks like a very easy compact version of all the things I need to work in water color 🥰

Thank you for doing this review. Honest and thorough. I've been needing something like this to decide if I'll be picking it up. Particularly good to note about metallics.

I use them both actually. The greenstuff for small expensive detail brushes and the pot for the big washes and dry brush brushes. The only big con for the rinser I would say is that it is not eco-friendly because you tend to use more water, but the difference is so small that it's worth it. It's also a bit flimsy. I would like a more expensive version of the rinser for a higher price of course. For metallics I always use a different container, but that's a separate thing, never wash paints containing mica on the same container you wash normal paints in.

Saw a short of the product, didnt kkownit has ridges that's a nice feature. Personally for painting, I think that toilet flush concept is brilliant. I would prefer it to have a bigger volume reservoir kind of like a normal cup youd use to rinse, but it is connected to a bigger clean water tank and a dump bucket that can away from the table. I fe like its houng to still be a little too much work to have to use another hand to press it or tilt the brush to press it to rinse. When you're mixing a lot of colour and kind of in the zone I think I would still prefer yo just use a normal cup. But if that cup is connected to a system like this that would be awesome because the button is basically only used to replace water.

Ouch your a hard task master. 😉 With any brush cleaning you remove as much paint as possible on a paper towel first, so you were basically dumping paint into it. However for a deeper better clean of your brush keep a cake of plain soap next to it. Clean the brush first as usual. Then wet the brush again and give it a good scrubbing on the soup and clean again. Your brushes will love you if you massage them with hair conditioner occasionally. For brushes usually the cheaper the better and as usual test with an old brush first. I love the Greenstuff World brush cleaner as with those ridges it really speeds up the brush care process. For brushes that splits or the tip curls on you first give it a soap wash and then use hair styling clay and give the brush a good going over and shape it. Then leave it with the clay for a couple of days. The Greenstuff World brush cleaner with those ridges are brilliant for gently knocking out the clay. So it's a better brush care device than just a cleaner. Thanks for doing the review on a type of product which is normally overlooked.

I just got mine but I have trouble with the push button. It doesn't seem to fit. How did you go about it?

From what remember it was a little bit difficult but then now it works fine

I cut off the bottom four or five inches of a plastic drinks bottle and use that for my water container. Cheaper and more readily available than either product.

Seems like there’s really no competition no comparison, the green stuff is 10000% better

Of course any product works better than never changing your rinse water :/

I thought this was an interesting gadget but for most painters it's still overkill. A good old glass jar is all you really need. Even the citadel cup is a bit much, other than grooves to hold brushes it's nothing special and overpriced for most hobbyists.

Mine only hold my brushes. I use a jar for my water 😂😂

Yeah, scrubbing your brush bristles on the ridges in these 'cleaners' is actually destroying our brush. If you have that much paint on your paint brush that you need to 'scrub' them to clean them then you are doing it wrong - paint too thick, paint too dry and or too much paint in the brush. If you are using cheap throw away brushes - then fine - it does the job. If you are using expensive water color brushes then you are literally throwing money down the drain.
