**INFO - I forgot to add this: It wasn't addressed when the Precision Press was first released, and I didn't think to mention it because I don't use those types of adhesives - but DO NOT put NON-water-based glues in these bottles. Glues that aren't water based have a totally different chemical formula and need certain types of plastics to contain them and the soft plastic of the Nuvo bottles isn't compatible with non-water-based glues. Those types of glues can eat away at the plastic and/or cause the bottle to burst. Just FYI!! And if you're reading this - thanks for watching and thanks to all of you that left positive comments regardless of whether you want this tool, have this tool, or are uninterested etc. I said in the video that there was drama around this and I've been dealing with it since posting and some of it has been ridiculous. If this tool doesn't interest you or you see no need for it for yourself that's totally ok. But that doesn't mean you need to vomit a bunch of negativity on my socials and come after me, post complaints, call me names etc (yeah - that's been happening). It's crafting my friends. CRAFTING. A TOOL FOR GLUE. That's it. Love all my peeps OK bye! See y'all in the next video 🩷

Why are ppl getting so nasty? Especially in the crafting world where we craft to relax & chill! Life’s too short to waste time on negativity, at least that’s my motto. I thank you for taking the time to show us a new product. I’ve never heard of this but I live in Europe where we don’t have nearly the amount of crafting devices or helpers as you do in America. Sometimes I’m a little jealous! 😔😔

When you are done using the glue, tap the bottle down to get the glue out of the tip. Also dip your pin in a stamp cleaner before putting it in or do it before capping the glue and it will help stop clogging.

Hello. I hope to see you using this product in your upcoming videos for real world use and examples. One of my biggest pet peeves with craft influencers on YT is that they will give a glowing review of a product and then we never see them use the product in videos anymore. I like that you frequently reuse products like stamps and dies rather than just new products. Thanks for taking the time to share your review.

When I’m transferring the craft tacky glue, I cut the tip off a LOT and then squeeze it into the nuvo bottle. After most of it is squeezed out, I left it sit with the Simon bottle on top of the nuvo bottle and drip. Then i wash out the tip and save it for another Simon little so I don’t have to cut all of them.

Thanks Amy. You are straight up and that is appreciated. I love your philosophy about not reviewing something you really don't care for or use with the idea that another crafter may really like it and use it often. I also like that you approach this from YOUR point of view and how YOU use it and that you took the time to list your pros and cons. Take good care! PS: We may be getting another big dump of winter here in Nova Scotia! Yikes! LOL

Thanks for a very thorough review! I find that a little inexpensive stand I bought quite a while back ( looks like a 3D printer product) that stores my glue bottles upside down really cut down on the clogging, and effort to squeeze them. Using a needleless syringe to refill bottles works like a charm… just don’t get tiny ones!! 🧑🏼🎨

Years ago one of my dogs developed diabetes and I had to give him daily injections. That’s when I realized how helpful the old syringes can be in crafting. I throw the needles away then use the plunger parts for glues, water when I need just a small amount. They really are useful.

Clever squeezing the bottle to suck the thick glue in the smaller bottle. Oh, my gosh, Amy, THANK YOU for posting this video! I've been trying to buy one of these glue presses for months and it's been constantly sold out. Your video reminded me to check to see if it was back in stock, so I followed your affiliate link and IT WAS! I finally got mine ordered from SSS and I can't wait to use it. At 57 years of age, my wrists and hands are starting to give me a little hell and this glue press looked like it would really take some of the pressure off of my joints. I was so dang excited to get this thing that I wept tears of disbelief, astonishment, and joy when I saw it in stock. Not really, but I was pretty damn happy. I think it's going to make a big difference in my comfort level when I'm crafting. Thanks much for the honest product review. I'm glad that you can finally bring your own glue press(es) out of the shadows and start using them in your videos. I love your honesty, your attitude, and your amazing cards. Take care, my dear. Hi Amy...I'm not sure if you mentioned this or not...I'm pretty sure that the recommendation is to 'burp' the bottle and get the glue down to the tip of the bottle before capping it. I'm almost certain that I saw this in a review directly from the company. I could be totally wrong but it certainly has helped in my case as I was having the same problem with clogging. It's not a perfect solution but has cut down on the clogging significantly. Thanks for your review..I like this product too.

@PrairiePaperandInk11 ай бұрын
oh mine clog all the time lol BUT a big factor is the glue and it's a thick glue I use plus I never put the lids on the bottles even if I'm not using them for a stretch at a time - tho that may lesson for me as I'll be using them IN my videos from now on and not keep them hidden from everyone. That said literally all my glues regardless of container clog - I've been dealing with it for so many years and have shown my little pincushion that I keep on my desk literally just to have pins to unclog my glues lol!
@ruthgibbs294411 ай бұрын
I do the same thing - keep a pin cushion in my top drawer and reach for it easily. I heard someone say that if you take the nozzle off and clean it periodically, it helps prevent clogging. I’ve tried that and it does seem to help.
@PrairiePaperandInk11 ай бұрын
yeah basically if you put the lids on them and take them off a couple times on the regular as the needles in the lids clean out the nozzle - it's another thing I need to start making a habit of doing lol

I tried Craft Tacky Glue once and it was so thick I could not get it out of the bottle! Ended up throwing the full bottle away. You always amaze me with how easy you seem to get the glue to flow. Thanks for your thoughts on the glue press, I have not purchased one yet, still thinking about it - do I really need it? Of course not. Thanks for all your videos, you have a very distinctive style!
@PrairiePaperandInk11 ай бұрын
even though it's too late since you tossed the bottle lol - this applies to any water-based glue: add a drop or two of distilled water to thin it out and shake well. Only start with a drop or so b/c if you add too much you risk thinning out the glue too much and making it unusable. All glues can thicken over time as more and more air gets into the bottle - the think w Crafty Tacky is b/c it's so thick to begin with it can get THICK THICK (THICCCC lol) pretty quick
@suelanham512511 ай бұрын

aww haha it's all good - I have a stockpile of this glue as I go through a fair amount. I would have been able to thin it out and not been offended in the least but it's totally fine. Considering how cheap the glue is (another reason I like it) it would cost more to mail it anyway! ;) 🩷

I really like my glue press and several friends have purchased after playing with mine. That being said I am a messy crafter and if I use my glue as I should the gun is easy to find. I still have lost it and grab one of my little ones. I also have some clogging issues but that is the nature of glue. I will tell you I tried putting Beacon Fabritac in the large nozzle one. It clogged and I busted the bottle. That glue is hard to clean up and I found out that acetone is not the black part of the gun's friend. I didn't destroy it and still use it but I bought me another so I wouldn't be embarrassed if I took it to a crop. Nuff said!
@PrairiePaperandInk11 ай бұрын
I didn't even think to mention that this was made for only water-based glue (I'm not even sure it was thought of when it was originally designed and packaged - I don't think my packaging says anything about it) as I never use anything but water-based. But yeah those types of adhesives require specific types of plastics as some can react with the ingredients and the Nuvo bottles being a soft plastic they aren't compatible with non-water-based glue.

yeah I think thinner glues specifically with the wider tip can be a big issue - I kind of assume they would work just fine with the detail tip but yeah that's one of the reasons I like the crafty tacky lol. I’m of mixed opinion. When I first got the glue press I loved it. I ordered it about the first day it was out. It was easier on my hands, especially my thumb. I capped it at the end of each session because the tip slid off the top of the red rubber dome but that was no big deal. Unfortunately, there were no warnings about using non-water based glues on the original box or original videos so I lost my spare bottle to a 3in1 glue bottle explosion🤪. C’est la vie. I personally like thinner glues and am looking forward to getting the original glue bottle empty so I can refill it. The second half of the bottle doesn’t work very well in the glue press. I find it hard on my thumb to squeeze by hand. In the meantime the stand is great for holding my other fine tip glue bottles so I don’t need to recap them while crafting. 😊. Someday I will get the original Nuvo bottle empty so I can put in new glue and get back to using the glue press.

Thx for your honest review Amy. Very helpful. I too have arthritis in my right hand, which is aggravated by prolonged and sustained squeezing. Does the tool require your hand to exert a lot of pressure to squeeze out the glue? Or is a lighter squeeze just as effective? Thanks again.
@PrairiePaperandInk11 ай бұрын
it will depend on the glue - my glue is so thick so yes more pressure is needed - but it's wayyyyy more comfortable on my hands and fingers than their original bottles or that little bottle I showed. The nuvo glue it comes with or other similar-consistency glue? Not much pressure at all IMO. I 100% understand that prolonged pressure aggravating arthritis - sometimes my hand ACHEs after a lot of gluing and that was why I got the tool and then did the review because I much prefer the tool now (and if I wasn't so stubborn I could switch to a thinner glue and it would be better too I'm sure lol)

Thanks so much for the review of this glue press. I so enjoy all your videos. I have such an issue with squeezing the bottles of glossy accents and diamond glaze. Do you feel that this system would work with those mediums?

I've never used Diamond Glaze so I have no idea, as for Glossy Accents maybe? It is a little bit thicker but I would just be wary about making 100% sure the press was in the holster properly as I'm just imaging the mess if it did leak. With the fine tip bottle I could see it possibly working in theory but the only way to know for sure would be to try it - and I couldn't even if I wanted to all I have is one of the mini bottles of Glossy Accents lol I don't use it very often so I never bothered getting a full size bottle of it

I love mine. I fill the fine tip bottle with Glitter glue and have no issues with clogging. Those who have issues with the price, the tip, filling the bottle, clogging etc… are simply looking for ways to justify their money guilt/fear issues.

Any idea where to get the replacement glue bottle? I finally made the decision to empty out the rest of the Nuvo Glue so I could put in my glue of choice. But my daughter got to the cleaned and empty bottle first and helped me out, not, by filling the bottle with her dollar store glue! Getting items across the border into Canada is pricey but I decided I have no choice. I've tried several places and they are all out!

You'll just have to wait till they're back in stock - I have links to everything in the description box but the individual bottle pack is out of stock and I don't know when it will be back but hopefully soon. I order everything from SSS regardless of whether or not I work with them (was ordering from them long before I started working with them) and I'm in Canada :)

Thanks. I'm on the list at SSS to let me know when it is back in. Hopefully this time they will notify me. I have shopped from SSS many times and never manage to get past the border without extra charges! last time the charges were more than the product cost. Just one of those Canadian things.

It's very expensive, is there an alternative ?

I have seen several reviews of this products. People seem to really like it. I don’t have difficulty using a glue bottle and I think the glue press would take up too much room on my craft table.

This product is a hard pass for me! I have a small work space one would take up too much space in my area. Everyone is jumping on board because influenceers are pushing this product with glowing reviews - maybe someday but not anytime in the future. Thank you for your honest review - Two glue presses would be over $70.00 that I could use on stamps or dies for my collection. Thanks but, No Thanks

I don't think that matters, I have carpal tunnel and if I don't keep it full it just clogs & takes to long to come out, of course that's probably my wrists....
