1. Serializing each individual item within the system so a traceability log can be maintained for each individual serial item. Also creating a Batch level identifier and associating individual serial items to the Batch so they can be grouped and tracked at both levels.
2. Creating a Tracking Log Data Model based on the GS1 EPCIS Traceability standards to capture the event details as the product moves and is scanned at different locations.
3. Building a simple mobile application which can be used by partners within the supply chain to scan/NFC tap an item, pick up the identifier and pass it on to the Qliktag Platform along with details like the business event, date, time, geolocation so it can be updated in the log against the item. Of course, industrial barcode scanning devices can be used too and integrated with the Qliktag Platform for larger deployments.
4. Designing a visual interaction template within the Qliktag Platform that consumers or any other stakeholder can use to pull up the traceability log details, product journey map and view the history of the product with a simple QR code scan (no special mobile application required to read or view the traceability information).
