Excellent! One thing I rarely hear or discussed is working scale, the size of the drawing on paper. So often, (and I remember this for myself) looking at renderings in books or online, I didn’t know how large the drawings were in the real world. Seeing these demonstrations exhibit how the the instructor works, and the size of the drawing on paper. This too, helps In making relaxing marks. Kudos!

@@productdesignermaker I've been practicing these exercises for a few days. 2:34 When constructing cirlcles in squares like this, I just can't seem to get the four arcs consistent and clean. When I draw, arcs in each quadrant they together doesn't form a proper circle rather a very distorted round shape, however when I draw full circle in the square in a continuous motion I get decent looking circles. I was trying to get that to and fro hand motion while drawing the arcs. Can't seem to get it right. Can you give some tips on this??

For drawings like 6:00 I usually have to do 2 point perspective techniques, otherwise the boxes don't line up to the same perspective. Is this fine? Do you ever do this? Really awesome video! Always struggle with relating 2 differently orientated components, with different VPs, on the one object. Such as the 'butter churn' problem presented in Perspective made easy p182 - Ernest Norling. Basically, he challenges you to draw a cube with a thin cylinder passing through it DIAGONALLY using construction geometry. It's a mind bender to try figure out the construction and make it relate to the diagonal centre of the cube. Any ideas/ experience with such difficult drawing exercises?
@productdesignermaker3 жыл бұрын
That’s a really interesting question. Thank you for getting in touch. I guess I’m going to have to get myself a copy of this book now! I’ll have a look and a think. An interesting challenge.
@snoopycharlie87183 жыл бұрын
@@productdesignermaker Hey man, thanks for replying! It bothered me so much, I'm thinking of creating a 3d cad model, take screenshots and try find the VPs etc myself working back from the screenshot, however, that will be a 3point perspective model, so kind of adds to complication ha. I don't mind sending you a couple pictures from the book where the drawing problem is described if you'd like? (Edit) Or I could upload a video here to show you the pages if you'd prefer that rather than needing your details?

I no longer remain calm during sketcing, any advice?
@productdesignermaker3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear this, but it should be achievable. Sounds like you’re putting pressure on yourself to produce your very best work when you sit down to sketch. Try to think of your sketching as means of communication with your client…. It’s NOT time to strive for excellence - you’re not producing artwork. If you take all steps to take away the pressure, you’ll start to find yourself liberated and your work will begin to look more assured and confident. Hope this helps.
