Рукова должны быть либо с резинкой на запястье, либо плотно прилегать, да и в целом одежда не должна по ветру развиваться, а прилегать к телу. Ещё помню, что-то там про пояс нам трудовик втирал. Короче основная суть, что свободно болтающаяся одежда, может легко намотаться на станок, в есте с человеком

Oh man, at least give the guys some basic dust masks, otherwise they will get Iron-lung, as that hazey air in the workshop is microscopic particles of cast iron and smoke suspended in the warm air! Cast iron dust is a truly hellish byproduct(for human health) that production work, machine tool operators sometimes encounter, and it unfortunately bellies the material's fantastic machining(in general) characteristics! Keep safe and well.

They are removing the casting flash. You don't need to be precise. Final balancing and main/big end sizing will be done by engine builder why would a pushrod engine be allowed to run rougher than an ohc engine? That doesn't make any sense.

@@CP110 quickly throwing a vernier caliper over as a go no go gauge is not a precise method of machining, but this part does not look like it's expensive due to how it's being manufactured, so like they say you get what you pay for. No disrespect to the individuals in the video, given the setup they do a pretty damn good job.

@@sacr3 it's not final machining. The crankshaft is being turned within certain tolerances to be properly sized at the time of assembly. This how companies like oem's, scat, eagle, 6etc receive cranks. Roughly machined within a certain spec. Then they finish machine and polish the main/rod journals, balance it, and do the final qc check. So yes using the vernier caliper as a no go Guage is fully acceptable.

When I finished my apprenticeship in South Africa in the mid 60's I worked in a few small places like this, mostly for a few weeks at a time just finding my feet in the outside World and then moved on to better places.........sometimes you just have to draw the line at crap and shit working conditions even if they pay you more to just keep you......anything to do with cast iron machining means you can taste it for days afterwards.

this is cast crankshafts usaly they work just fine, they are provn to snapp off now and then, but not to often, most cranks today is forged and mutch stronger, but if we spool the time back some years, cranks was made in a simmilar way in western countrys aswell, and most of them work just fine for a normal output engine. nice work.. and i agree with comments bellow, get som facemasks cast iron is not good for the lungs, and the dripping and irritated nose from it is a pain. :-)

What worries me is that your tolerances have to be damn spot on, if it's too tight or too loose you will have no oil or too much slop and you will lose that engine a lot sooner than you would otherwise. But if it's not going into some 2021 brand new car, more so in a little beater car, then it looks like a cheap option that'll keep you going for a little while

I worked at a machine shop that required at times easy tolerances like plus or mi us 2 thousandths of an inch in diameter, and 2thousandtbs in concentricity, and other times tolerances were up to 2 and ten thousandths of an inch both I diameter and concentricity with a parallelism of 2 thousandths. Now I'm working at a machine shop that reminds me of this ond....somewhat....a lot of our machining is done by eyeball and feel.....hardly have to put calipers into use.

Being a quality inspector, i have inspected similar components and I can say that these components can be maintained within 10 to 20 micron max.with these conventional machines and instruments. There are hundreds of such small scale industrial premices in my locality.

Он не понимает что делает. Просто повторяет, что где-то видел, как белые люди прикладывают штангенциркуль к деталям, после чего коленвал ходит долгие годы и совсем не бьёт на оборотах.

This man is what use to be called a " Machinist" he is measuring with "vernier caliper". The big machine is called a " lathe" I assume an " engine lathe or gear head. He started with a four jaw "chuck" great to see a fellow dinosaur practise our trade!
