Yes. Hedwig's theme is the ONLY acceptable study music. It was mine too when i was doing my MPhil in the UK. Do your PhD at Ox/Cam and it'll be very elevating.

hey I love your videos! Was wondering where master’s students usually live (LSE flats or unaffiliated flats)? Also what would you say is the easiest place to make friends at LSE? Thanks!

Thanks! I'd say most LSE master's students live in LSE accommodation! I'm in intercollegiate halls and there are barely any LSE students. In terms of getting to know people I'd say make sure to talk to a lot of people from your program from the start and go on all the social that are organised in fall... there are not that many afterwards. But going to events in generall and joining a society is a good way I think (especially if you want to connect with people outside your program)

You got me interested in the boxing club, is it just shadow boxing in a sports hall more like boxercise? Or is it an amateur boxing club?

So I would say it's a mix and also depends on what you want it to be: In the first term all classes focus on teaching the basic techniques of punches and footwork combined with some good exercise training (cardio and core warmups of 30 min before training are the usual). Then towards winter term body sparring will become part of the training as well + more shadow boxing. That's the basic setup. But if you are keen to do more intense boxing, including (head) sparring from the beginning the club also offers extra trainings on the weekends for more advanced people. And if you are successfully applying to fight in LSE's "Fight Night" boxing event, you'll have even more intensive training in winter term. But all of that is voluntary not mandatory. So I just went to the basic classes 1-2 times a week to improve my cardio (it really got me fit quickly) and learn the fundamental techniques along with some light body sparring. Long answer, hope it helps :)

@@floveil570 thanks for the response, really helpful and I appreciate it. I was also wondering if there are boxing tournaments or any thing similar with other London universities such as KCL or UCL? I saw online there was quite a few years ago, not sure if that’s still a thing though.

I am not entirely sure tbh. I think there might be some, but they would probably be during the first term and hence only for members that are somewhat advanced from the start. I would recommend to check out the instagram (lseboxing) for more info or dm them - the admins will definitely know!

Hey man! Unfortunately I don't know anyone in that department and haven't taken any of their courses... usually departments have student ambassadors though which you could reach out to in case you haven't yet :)
