I ended up selling my Nude Tude palette. I totally agree about the Tarte blushes. Never understood the hype. Unfortunately we all have those products we regret buying. Thanks for sharing! Always helpful!

Laura I hope these suggestions help salvage some of your products. Real Techniques contour brush is the best for applying and blending the Chanel bronzer. It literally melts it into the skin. With the NARS blush trio, it seems oils either from your skin or foundation has been transferred onto the colors via your brush. Take a rough surface paper towel and scrape away the top layer of the product. As for the Tarte blushes, spray your MAC Fix+ straight after you apply the blush and this will take away the powdery chalky finish and give you that glow. xx

I don't understand how someone can have soooo many regrets. You should have tried them better in the store and probably shouldn't go that crazy on buying that much makeup if you already have a huge collection. I would sell them and try to get somehow the money back, instead of forcing yourself to wear things you don't like :D

Nude tude is a really beautiful palette (I've done more than one video using it)- It's not the typical "neutral" palette and the formula is lovely. It could be that the colors were not to your liking because maybe it suits lighter skin tones? I'm not sure if that's really it, but I know I personally love it and I'm about NW10-15.

I think the Laura mercier palette circle shadows are the tight liners where you activate it with water to make a semi liquid liner. Try that and see how that goes. :)

hey laura! Those 3 in the Laura Mercier's palette are tightlining cake eyeliners you use them wet! you can use water. It is so much easier to apply than gel based eyeliners and I find that it lasts longer. Love it. I don't have the Laura Mercier activators, but instead use either Visine eye drops or my trusty Paula Dorf Transformer to mix with the cake liner and make it into a paste :)

Advice for palettes, while bulk palettes for example the Tarte blush palette, tend to be formulated differently than the originals in a individual compact and regularly in palettes like that the quality is compromised. You're better off buying an individual shade than buying a large palette.

I was the same way with the Chanel cream bronzer, try using the Real Techniques Buffing brush and buffing it into the places where the sun would hit, bridge of nose, upper cheek bones, chin, forehead and popping a bronzey peach blush on the apples it makes for the perfect sunkissed look! I've fallen back in love with mine after trying it this way because I went to ask the Chanel MU artist if I was doing something wrong and this is what she told me to do and it's been perfect!

The Laura Mercier dark trio of colors are cake liners, not eyeshadows. You can use water and an eyeliner brush or the Laura Mercier tight line activator and a brush to get a really beautiful, natural and long lasting line. Just put a drop on a palette or drop directly in the pan, mix with your brush and apply.

I love the nude 'tude palette. Especially because there are other colours in it! The yellow is wonderful to mix with other shades like golds to brighten them. But I have to admit that I'm really into colour. It's nice to experiment and if you don't like it, you can wash it off. Start slowly, use a bright colour as a liner. Then maybe to softly blend out the crease. You don't have to apply it so it's true to pan. Hope I could help! Take care. :)

Hi Laura, thanks for sharing! I love this channel. Just wanted to let you know that the tarte blush set you tried and didn't like contains blushes that are not consistent with the high quality of the blushes in the regular line, in my opinion. I found the blushes in that particular set you referenced as inferior, way too powdery and not enough pigmentation. I have always loved tarte blushes from their regular line, when you get a chance, I recommend you try them. The colors in the regular line are amazing, and would be great for your skin tone:) don't give up on those blushes yet!

Those "shadows" in the Laura Mercier palette are cake liners. You just need to wet them with water or MAC Fix+ and they turn into the most pigmented liner I've ever come accross. You really should try them out this way Laura :D

Love these types of videos and short reviews you gave and reasonings! Btw, I was in the same boat as you in regards to the Chanel bronzer but I finally found a way to absolutely love it. What face products (moisturizer, primer, foundation) do you recommend for an over 50 year old face, I'm of Mediterranean descent (same coloring as you, Laura), some wrinkles (not as much as some my age) and a bit of puff under the eyes. Would Color Stay be a good choice for foundation? What about some of the other products Ellen and Diane Keaton advertise for older women? Thank you Laura! I really enjoy all your channels. This is absolutely true! I have super oily skin so to me, tarte blushes are AMAZING because I have trouble getting regular blushes to A. Last longer than 2 hours on my skin type and B. Not make me look even greasier at the end of the day. Definitely try Tarte blushes with a luminizing product because the pigmentation and longevity of these blushes is great :)

Laura, for foundations that are too thick try to "thin" them out with a moisturizer or what I use is aloe vera gel ( the one I use is the one from fruit of the earth) I coat my foundation brush with it first and then buff on the foundation. For your eye shadows I recommend that you learn how colors go together. Learn from Koren of enkore makeup and also main thing is get a color wheel from an art store. It'll help you learn how to pair colors.Try different techniques for application, i.e wet/dry under a white base like the one from NYX. (that'll make the powdery shades pop) For your Channel bronzer use the elf small stipple brush, it's like 3 bucks. Check out emilynoel83's video titled "cream blush and highlight tip". Btw I know a lot of tips and tricks for makeup. Some I learned from youtube others from my own "experiments" and some from Clinique and Shiseido (I worked for both companies ) Hope this helps.

I wish that I could dump all of the colors from palettes that I hate and make my own palette of the ones I do like. There is so much waste in palettes of things like florescent lime green or magenta that they would never sell except at Halloween or just because they want to fill up palettes with a lot of colors that you don't use, so that the colors you do use (which are tiny sizes) get used up really fast and then you have to buy another palette to get the colors you want. I know it is low-end, because I get 'em at Dollar Tree of all places, but I can get single pretty eyeshadow colors of Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo (highly pigmented). I have green eyes, too, and they have so many colors that look good with green eyes. Thanks for your videos on all three channels. I am a fan!

I'm glad I did my HW and didn't buy it. I bought the Guerlain 'Meteorites' Pearls instead.

Laura I can't help but wonder are you buying your products at slower sephoras where the products might sit on the shelf longer? I only say this because I've had and still have many NARS blushes that are still pigmented and buttery soft. As far as highlighters maybe try something with a iridescent tint or maybe a pink undertone. You have a lot of yellow in your skin and when buying products it seems as if the undertones are all the same thus giving no contrast or dimension to the skin. Hope this helps :)

I buy most of my stuff from Sephora online so maybe there is something to that. Never thought of it but it's certainly a possibility that products are sitting on a shelf for too long.

Laura you have to wet the LM liners. They can be a pain and time consuming. I agree with you!

I love Hourglass Dim light but I am very light skinned. Maybe the radiant would work better for you!
