This is an amazing interview. It is crazy how Professor Malkiel came up with pro passive investing observations literally 50 years ago, and his ideas are *still current*.

Have you ever done a bad episode? If so, this one is certainly not it! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these (and honestly, thank you for your service--helping folks sort out their financial future is indicative of a life well lived.)

I can't believe when this interview was made he was 90 years old. So sharp I'm amazed at his acuity.

While I haven't seen all of your podcasts (yet), he was one of your best guests. Great job giving us all the different opportunities to hear from people with such insight.

What a grandious episode. Love it! Superb interview. Very clear & concise. He is really up to speed for his age. Only his digital impact could be polished. Many sounds in the background. Mic change vould already improve that significantly

This is an exceptional interview and I was fully engrossed. While I have read the book this interview really covers some of topics and angles. I have even greater respect now for person and author as well as the interviewers. Thank you.

Burton Malkiel is an amazing man, he is so bright, and so wise and came up with someone so simple and brilliant decades ago. He is also a very kindhearted great guy, I had an experience with him personally.

Hey Ben and Cameron. I’d like to say first that you two have changed my life. I can’t thank you enough. Would love to see you guys have an episode talking about investing when you have a pension from your employer or union. I think it would be a great topic!

One of my favorite episode's...Great job again, Ben and Cameron!! I have only watched 20 or so so far and have jotted down a list of previous ones that peak my interest (to watch all of the others would be a tough task), but this one and the Chris Hadfield episode (I am Canadian) hit home. Thanks again, gentlemen!!

Hey Guys, when you will do podcast about technical analysis? is it helpful or oax
@ciaranburks4638 Жыл бұрын
No Cameron and Ben won’t do a podcast about this - because there is no evidence that technical analysis works. It is, as you say, a “hoax” in that people who promote it are trying to sell you something for which there is no evidence that it works. Read this guest’s book “A random walk down Wall Street” if you want more info
@andrewfriedrichs9340 Жыл бұрын
I would love an in depth description of what technical analysis claims to be. Every time I have tried to scratch the surface I find nothing. If that is true, why does it still exist? Is it just a case of the superstitious chicken?

If tilting towards value exposes you to more compensated risk, why would he only reccomend value for people who are retired? It seems to me that people in the accumulation phase would be better served with higher risk and people in retirement would want to focus more on preservation? Is my thinking wrong here?

With a active fund having a 1-2% cost, it’s a one time cost - hardly a charge for a long term investment
