Microorganisms play a critical role in the management of plant health. They can deteriorate plant health and cause diseases affecting crop yield and agricultural production while on the contrary, there are those that can boost plant growth and suppress the plant diseases.
The Open Lectures Committee hosted a Professorial Inaugural Lecture entitled, "MICROBES: A devil or savior of plant health," on the 26th May 2022 by Prof. Duraisamy Saravanakumar, Professor of Plant Pathology. Professor Saravanakumar's presentation discussed developing a savior microbe to biopesticide in the management of vegetable diseases.
