The Legacy? : He didn't respect the Constitution when it demanded giving justice to Opposition Political Parties. He verbally and practically (not de jure) banned Opposition Political Parties. He made sure that only his party (CCM) members became Members of Parliament and Councillors. He did not respect the Constitution when the time came for Local Government Elections in 2019. The same attitude of disregard for Democracy was shamelessly done during the General Elections of 2021. Opposition political party leaders were harassed; dubious cases against leaders of opposition parties were opened up in courts. The Media was muted. The National Election Commission (NEC) and The Constitution (of 1977) are there to favour the Ruling Party. All attempts to call for reform of NEC and the Constitution were snubbed by the late President Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli. "Injustice somewhere is "Injustice every where".
